Looking for Real User Feedback on FC Addons for FluentCommunity

Hi everyone,

Has anyone here tried FC Addons with FluentCommunity, especially the PWA and Push Notifications add-ons?

I’m considering buying the Lifetime package for my community and would really appreciate feedback from real users:

  • Are the add-ons stable, or do they cause any issues or slow down the website?
  • How is the PWA experience on iPhone and Android?
  • Do push notifications work reliably?
  • Is their support helpful when there is a problem?
  • Do you think the Lifetime deal is worth the price?

I’d really appreciate any honest experience or advice before purchasing. Thank you! πŸ™

Sander W.

Way too expensive; it costs just as much as the complete FluentCommunity license for a few add-ons compared to a complete plugin.

Sander W.Β if you find some useful and got they promised then it is not expensive. For example the Ads plugin, PWA etc.

Sander W.Β I already use complete plugin with License , thanks to refer to me about this diferencesπŸ™

Ross FCAΒ he could answer you directly if he happens to be passing by here, he's the developer of FCA.

Hi HindΒ I am in final testing stage of a Free addon that will offer PWA, with full website or just community options, plus all the normal PWA settings and features. The addon will also offer Push Notifications, which can be run separately, but would work better with the PWA enabled, especially for Safari users.

I am about to release an update to my event plugin, then I will be finishing off the PWA/Push Notification. Will message you when ready πŸ‘

Edit: probably worth mentioning, I will offer support and happy to help with any issues or problems.

David ChurchillΒ good to know buddy

Cointacter

David ChurchillΒ do u plan to make it addable to google and apple stores?

David Churchill

CointacterΒ PWA is not a full app, basically a website app that uses browser features to behave more like a native app on the users device. More details to follow soon.

Cointacter

David ChurchillΒ im not asking what pwa is, im asking if you plan to do what i ask or not? Check progressify if you think it isnt possible

David Churchill

CointacterΒ ah sorry - I have been asked to build an iOS and Android app for a clients community, if it works then I guess it could be spun off as a service. Timescale would likely be late 2026/early 2027.

David Churchill

CointacterΒ I've just revisited my notes from last year, and remembered I did actually spec up a app idea that could potentially connect members to one or more FluentCommunity sites. The Community site owners would need to install a companion plugin, possibly free to paid with different features and customisation options. I will try and revisit this next month.

David ChurchillΒ pwa or native? well, with fcom especially for mobile apps where seo doesnt play a role, there is no reason to build native apps and i have no idea why so many companies doing it. all the app native code and updates, for what? pwa is much better especially when its vue so no page reload and for mobile app seo doesnt matter so the entire pwa app could be perfect solution. if by the time i will need it nobody will have done it right i might do it myself.

I already have full waas solution via instawp, working with fluentcart and on fcom, instawp knows it and they will market it, we have partnership. Your solution to sync users/sites might be interesting to me as i have some plans in this direction.

David ChurchillΒ Following, b/c I'm interested.

If youre someone who can only install a plugin and not build one yourself, then you gotta use simply because there is nothing else at the moment, but be ready to hit unlimited bugs without support

Hi @Hind, sorry to have missed this. I'm the developer. To answer your questions -

The majority of the add-ons (there's a lot) are in active development and many are stable and used on hundreds of live sites at the moment. PWA and Push notifications are both live and working well (the latter depending on the size of your community and size of server as its run locally).

I try my best to be helpful and have worked with dozens of users directly to help them set up and configure everything on their own communities. Most of the development also comes directly from user suggestion, and a lot of the testing and feedback is done by the users so it's a bit of a reciprocal help situation. I've mostly been doing this myself but have brought in an additional developer so support is improving.

I'd say the lifetime deal is absolutely worth the price (obviously) and it's going to be ending very soon as its initial purpose was an investment for early backers https://fluentcommunityaddons.com/launch-offer/ - SpaceEvents for example, that is advertised here, is more expensive just for Events.

Since its launch users now have access to Events Pro, PWA, Push notifications, multi-reactions, Global Search, Directory, Knowledgebase, Real-time websockets across the community (live viewer count etc), custom menus, custom course blocks, custom display names and much more. Ads, Members, and themes are also coming very soon.

Ross FCAΒ "Business Directory" is already online? Then what about "Ads Manager"? I see it is also "Q2 2026"

Ross FCA

Peng XieΒ Yep I released an initial version just over a week ago. It's starting small to focus on stability but currently it adds a /directory/ page to your community with filters and list/grid view. It supports multiple listing types and categories. It has user submitted listings with a moderation queue. Submitters are notified by email and by a fluent bell notification. Listings have multiple field types, image gallery, and link to user chat.

Ads manager is in late stage testing (just waiting adsense approval).

Peng Xie

Ross FCAΒ also the Ads manager is only for adsense? I thought it will be a complete ads solution, such as manage header ad, footer ad, sidebar ad, ad shows before/in/after post, video ad, etc...

Ross FCA

Peng XieΒ Not just adsense, manual ads too. User submitted ads eventually. You will be able to insert any manual or adsense ad into a number of different areas in the portal - header, sidebar, above feed, feed widget area (above or below), between feed posts (and sponsored post style ads).
