Just launched my community - here are my top 3 feature requests!
I just launched my community using FluentCommunity, and I'm loving it so far! Here are 3 features I'm hoping to see added soon. I'm sure many of you have these on your wish list too:
- Onboarding Flow - It would be fantastic to have an automated onboarding process that guides new members to a dedicated welcome space when they first join. This could feature a pinned video or post explaining how to navigate the platform, community guidelines, and what to expect.
- Restrict Member Messaging to Admins/Moderators OnlyRetry - The current messaging system allows anyone to message anyone once enabled. It would be great to have an option to restrict this so that members can only send direct messages to admins/moderators, not to each other. This would help prevent spam and keep member interactions in public spaces while still allowing private communication with leadership when needed.
- Push Notifications - I believe this is essential for keeping a community engaged and active. Having the ability to send push notifications would really help with member retention and participation. Hope to see this implemented soon. Shahjahan JewelΒ
Push notifications are key for member engagement. I used Onesignal while I was on BB. Miss that a lot. I dont know anyone who use mails on daily basis.
If push notifications are implemented for FC then how would this affect mobile apps that also use push notifications?
David ScurlockΒ Not sure. Maybe mobiles apps would be able to use the same configuration? Since there's no official mobile app, many users just use the web based version. So having built in push notification system is basically essential.
Thushara LakshanΒ mobile app services most likely have push notification options, however, I would not be against push notifications for web based sites. Onesignal is popular.
