Just a course, nothing else?

I set up my first site with the general default. There are "Start Here" and "Say Hello" sections, and my one course. I only want the course to show.

• How can I deliver people directly into the course once they log in?

• How can I hide everything else other than the course? (No "Start Here", no discussion spaces.
