Issue: Classroom course "cards" redirect away from Community (needs option to open in new tab)

Hi there,

I’m running into a recurring problem inside FluentCommunity that is causing a lot of friction for my users and for myself πŸ˜‰.

When someone is not enrolled in a course and clicks on a course card in the Classroom, FluentCommunity redirects them to my WooCommerce product page (which is correct), but it opens in the same tab and completely replaces the Community interface.

This creates two big issues:

  1. Loss of momentum:
Users are pulled out of the community environment, lose their place, and often don’t return because they get β€œstuck” on the product page.
  2. Poor user experience:
There is no easy way to go back to the Classroom, making the navigation feel confusing and unintuitive.

I would really like an option to have external redirects (like WooCommerce product pages) open in a new tab instead of replacing the Community. This would keep users inside the Community and significantly improve flow and engagement.

Could you please advise if:

  • there is already a setting that allows course links to open in a new tab,
  • or if this is something your team could add as an option,
  • or if there’s a recommended workaround for now?

I appreciate any guidance or solution you can offer.

Thanks so much! πŸ™

Change the settings to show the default restricted page on the course level and have the button redirect to the WooCommerce page with target of β€œ_blank”. In other words, disable the auto redirect.
