Is FluentCommunity right for me?

My team sells consulting services. Someone signs up, and then I do custom research and then deliver that research via Notion. They can then email me or schedule a video call to ask questions, etc.

We are struggling with back and forth with clients via email and consolidating all communications in one place (which I can't do in Notion).

We use FluentBooking Pro, Forms Pro and are migrating to CRM Pro.

I'd love to onboard a new client by creating a Fluent Community account and have basic information pre-loaded, maybe even some courses which have base research that everyone gets.

I'd like the Community UI to have a "todo" for the items the client needs to do.

Then when I deliver the custom research (still via Notion, probably), I'd add a tab in Community with a link to their custom research (or could it be somehow integrated in Community?). Then they could ask questions back and forth.

No client would ever be able to see another client's content.

It feels like I'm perhaps trying to make Community do something that it wasn't meant to do, but it's so close. Would you use Community for this?

William Beem

You could create separate Spaces for each client to keep things private. The "todo" is where you may need to get creative. Is that for you to perform or the client? It seems like FluentBoards would be more applicable as a project management tool. I'm just not sure about the integration with the community. It could be that FluentBoards is what you need rather than the community.

I've seen an integration with the FluentCommunity, allowing you to integrate FluentBoards with It. Here is an example.

William BeemΒ The todo is really just "click this link to a fluent form and take the survey". FluentBoards seems like overkill so maybe it's just a post in the feed.

William BeemΒ I think it is doable. He could use public spaces for general content and private spaces for clients. He can also make his community private so search engines do not index the community. I would say fc would be more flexible compared to back and forth emails. Since you are doing emails, have you considered fluentsupport?

Aaron Bailey

I have considered fluentsupport but then there's no ability to add support email threads + consulting content in a way that makes it feel premium.

Aaron BaileyΒ A big redesign is ongoing! Re-doing the whole UI!

Aaron BaileyΒ you can always install the free version of FC and see it will suit your needs πŸ˜€

Shahjahan JewelΒ can we see concepts? We are trying to close the gap between fluent and some of the capabilities we were after with Buddyboss for a community we are relaunching. I'd love to see what the new concept is. When will it be out?

Aaron Bailey

I even just paid for the pro version to play around.

Is this a common work flow that others would be interested in do you think?

As you're already invested in the Fluent suite then I would definitely recommend trying to make it work even if it doesn't feel perfect at first or have everything exactly as you need, as I'm sure it will in the near future.

To lock it down so each user feels like they're in their own "dashboard" you would want to turn off all things like global posts. Members page/search, leaderboard.

You could then create a secret space for each client and add them to that space. To make the whole platform feel like it's just for them you could use my Widgets plugin to turn off the default sidebar menu and create a new menu group for every client. In the group you can add a link to their space and also to their Notion doc or any other link specific to them.

Hi Aaron BaileyΒ I personally don't think Fluent Community is the right tool for what you want to do. I use Basecamp for the type of functionality you're looking for. It works great for us. See here: https://youtu.be/gOt4ywFxChk
