To allow sharing of the Fluent Community URL with shortened links.
Today Better Links allows you to configure a custom domain, that is, you can install it on your main site and add a short domain, such as .click .link and different ltd.

Today, almost every community platform is installed on a subdomain.
Let’s take this one as an example:
The base URL is already quite long:
https://community.wpmanageninja.com/portal
And when a post is published, the link gets even longer:
https://community.wpmanageninja.com/portal/space/community-meta/post/integration-better-links
The idea is simple but powerful: by integrating Better Links, the platform could automatically generate a short URL whenever a user clicks the share button on a post.
Instead of sharing a long, complicated link, users would instantly get a clean, professional short link.
Imagine having Better Links installed at:
https://community.wpmanageninja.com/
with a custom branded domain like:
https://fluentcommunity.co/
Instead of sharing this long URL:
https://community.wpmanageninja.com/portal/space/community-meta/post/integration-better-links
Users would share something like:
https://fluentcommunity.co/qqf635
The same smart logic could be applied to courses — each course could have its own custom short URL — and to spaces as well:

This feature would not only improve the user experience and brand visibility but would also position Fluent Community as the first to offer native link shortening for community posts — a true innovation that no other platform currently offers.
Paulo Beneton I don’t think it will add values to the mass people. It will also add complexity to our implementation and add extra database queries for the feeds which I don’t want for performance

But it will be very valuable in the future.
When other plugins/communities release something similar, you will remember the opportunity to have been ahead of the game.
