I have a dumb question about Media Storage
I was looking at third party storage services for only media storage (Configure Media Storage). Thinking ahead I was going to sign up for Cloudflare R2, but as I was walking through things, it wants to take over my DNS, particularly nameservers and I am not wanting this to happen.
Dumb me thought Configure Media Storage was just that, media. What am I missing and how can I go about just having files somewhere else besides my own host server? Thanks for not treating me like an idiot. I have never done this before.
I haven't done much with Cloudflare but I know you can offload storage to Bunny.net without moving DNS.
OK... I think I am getting to understand this better. It wasn't really clear, but I have to find the R2 storage option and go there. Cloudflare was walking me through this whole setup and I'm like, nope.
By using cloudflare you get many security features even with the free plan, including hiding your servers's IP address. Most of the web is using CF only for this feature because it does it the best. I wouldn't try to avoid it, on the contrary I would put as much as I can on CF and this is exactly what the whole world is doing. So up to you :)
