I am starting tomorrow! (Suggestions and opinions)

Hello Folks,

I am Ioannis from Greece. Maybe the biggest fan in Greece. I am using the Fluent Suite from 2021 and when i saw Fluent Community i grabbed the deal immediately.

My community will start tomorrow welcoming parents with children from 0 to 12 years old.

I have almost 300 people came from an early bird offer and i am waiting at least 900 people joining the early phase of my community.

Now:

Do you have any suggestions?
Do you have something in mind that i didnt think?
Any suggestions about the maintenance?

Every suggestions and thoughts are welcome.

My thanks to the Fluent Family that made my vision come true!

Hello Ioannis,

Congratulations on launching your community – that’s an exciting step!
Two things came to mind as I read your post:

First, are you planning to use a VPS or some other scalable infrastructure for hosting the community? Performance and stability can become key as your user base grows. πŸ˜„

Second, and perhaps even more important: have you already covered the legal and privacy aspects? In communities for parents, especially where information about children is shared, issues related to privacy, image rights, personal data (like phone numbers or sensitive documents), and moderation policies can quickly become critical.

From my experience, setting up clear terms, moderation protocols, and a privacy policy tailored to these scenarios can save a lot of trouble later. Happy to share more insights if you’d like!

also be careful to use testimonials from the community, if you do not collect specific consent for that.

We had a couple of cases with a bunch and collection of this kind of problems with different FB communities.

Wishing you all the best with the launch!

Jorge de los ReyesΒ Hey, thanks for your great comment!
I have a site on Cloudways running my site on a Digital Ocean HF server.
I have covered the legal and privacy settings with a lawyer and i have already hired a community manager!
Thanks for your contribution!

Ioannis GlossopoulosΒ great! πŸ’ͺ

Wow Ioannis, that is a flying start. Congrats!
It is a little difficult to give advice with so little information. In addition to what Jorge said be sure to make the site as secure as you can. Not only in the technical aspect, but also the social part. Try to know who joins as a member. Not sure what you are offering for the members, so like I said difficult to give advice. Good luck!

J VΒ I offer courses, Live Events, Office Hours Chat and some small videos & PDFs for parents.

Thats awesome, well done. Im still building ;)
What was the early bird offer out of curiosity?
I echo what Jorge de los ReyesΒ mentioned as I can imagine with parent/kids etc you cross into sensitive territory. Make sure you are covered legally..

Well done you!
Keep us posted!

Luke HubCoΒ Thanks Luke!

It made me think that we should create a FluentCommunity tips/recommendation article/doc for beginners and people whom have used it for a while.

Paal Joachim RomdahlΒ Great idea!

Paal Joachim RomdahlΒ Yeah we need two files: The technical part and the community builder part.

Paal Joachim RomdahlΒ n8n has really nice approach when it comes to helping other users with answering questions - it would be nice to have something similar - it would be nice to have a feature to mark a post as a Solution (for Questions) etc where post author ans the Admin/MODS could mark a comment as a Solution

Mat β€ŽΒ (Mat it is Interesting that your nick name here comes up as wordpress)
What you shared looks like a very interesting community solution!

Thinking user interface.
I am thinking that there should be a possibility to have a FAQ/Document section for each product. In a submenu of each product could be a Document section. One could click a + sign in front of the product name to open the submenu to see supporting sections for the specific product. Document section would be a way to show each product and the documentation they contain. It would make it easier for us whom regularly check the community here to also go to a product and then enter the Docs section.
--
This way we can check the Docs and answer various questions that come up in the main area of a product.
--
The next part could be that we regulars can mark a question that would be helpful to add to a FAQ section. As some questions will over time be asked over and over again. When a question has been marked as FAQ then perhaps it could with the decision of the admin automatically be added to a submenu area FAQ of the product. This way the question will not get lost but be added to the FAQ/useful Q&A's section.

--

A \summary\ (Not sure if HTML works here or not.)

  1. Having Documentation section of each product easily available directly here in the community under each product. This means linking it up with existing documentation which is elsewhere.

  2. Being able to mark a question and an answer as useful. Which then could automatically upon admin approval be added to a FAQ section in the submenu of a product. Good questions and answers will not over time get lost.
