How to remove members?

I checked the website docs and searched the community but I cannot find out how to remember members from /portal/members without deleting them.

Am I missing the place to do this or is it not possible?

Hac MediaΒ as a workaround you can block the User Access to fCommunity (it wont remove the User data/posts/comments/chats/images)

Note: it would be nice to just have to possibility to delete fCommunity User and the user data directly from the fCommunity.

Go to Members > select Kebab icon for the user you want to block the access > change the user Status to Blocked

Mat β€ŽΒ and I’ve seen the blocking feature, but I’m trying to remove a bunch of test users. Doesn’t it seem strange that something is simple as removing users from the community is not an option?

Hac MediaΒ it would be nice to have some bulk actions available directly in fCommunity. If you use Fluent CRM you could probably mark your test users with a tag and then delete them but I don't think it is the case for many Admins.

Let see for the upcoming Moderation features that we are waiting for some time. Maybe we will get more control there...

Debo OgunrindeΒ thanks for sharing this link but this only covers removing users from a space, it is not actually possible to remove them from the community in general. Even after removing them from all spaces. They still remain in the primary members list.

Debo Ogunrinde

Hac MediaΒ got it...not sure that is available yet...

As this is a WP plugin, there is a WP user created. You have to delete the WP user.

H Media

Volker KnΓΆringerΒ this is logical except my site has over 5000 users and not all the users are community members

Users need to be enrolled or added in the community

It would be nice to remove a user from the community without having to delete their contact record and other user information

Any resolution here? I was just testing the webhook and now I have 'dummy' members. I tried removing from the Users in WP, they still show up. I'd like to just DELETE them from Community instead of Blocking them.

I see that the users are added to a custom DB table so you could perhaps remove them. I’m not sure what that would do to content associated with that user in terms of error on the frontend. You’d probably have to run a query to remove any rows with that user id from the other tables as well.

Hey Hac Media, did you get to fix this? I see they added a feature to deactivate members, but it seems like only a member can do that themselves. You could of course fix that with a plugin that lets you login as a user and then do it for them?

Shahjahan JewelΒ how do we delete members from the community? We need to let them still access their user account and be on our mailing list but not in the community. And like others, would really like to delete test users.

Shahjahan Jewel

Wendy ShoefΒ You can edit the profile of that user in FluentCommunity and block or deactivate that account.

H Media

Shahjahan JewelΒ is there a technical reason why we can't just remove them from fluent community without having to delete the WP user account? Blocking is not the preferred approach for test accounts which we would just like to delete from fluent community without necessarily deleting the WordPress account.

Shahjahan Jewel

H MediaΒ There has no technical reason. We just did not implement the feature yet. Currently it's ties with your WP Users.

H Media

Shahjahan JewelΒ it's possible to create a WordPress user without connecting it to fluent community, it would be very helpful to be able to disconnect users from fluent community in the same way. Is the fluent community roadmap still updated, and is that feature on it somewhere?

Shahjahan Jewel

H MediaΒ FluentCommunity is just a plugin for WordPress. We should not handle a separate user account. WordPress user authentication process that we use and we have no plan to change the flow.

H Media

Shahjahan JewelΒ I understand, I don't think that fluent community should have its own user management system. All I'm asking for is a way to completely remove a user from showing up in fluent community. Not just blocking them but actually removing the connection between the user account and fluent community. Blocked users still show up in the member list and in the leaderboard. I'm not sure if my request is fully being conveyed correctly but I hope that makes sense.

+1 for this
