Hosting for FC?
Got any hosting advice for FC?
Im looking for minimum hosting right now so I can get FC up and running. I am looking for a host that has enough just to get FC up and running and enough options to upgrade to a vps or higher when the time comes.
CPanel is a must!
Have any other advice or tips for a newbie then see my other post.
Thank you
Curious: Why do you need CPanel? It's a bloated and takes lots of resources itself.
Use at least a VPS, and with just $10/Month, you can run a decent instance on xCloud. Even their first server management is free.

Shahjahan JewelΒ I dont need cpanel. I am just familiar with cpanel compared to other environments. I am not familiar with xcloud but I will have a look.
David ScurlockΒ take xCloud, you will be also happy with that! π
Kevin HeinrichsΒ I dont really like change but I may have to in order to get away from cpanel. Does xcloud have some sort of demo for their backend?
David ScurlockΒ Nobody like changes, but it is worth and you will see how much time you will save. I think 1 server is free but without Pro features and if you dont have a Hetzner account then you will receive 20$ free credits (I think), so you can try it fully free. Personally I only take CCX servers from Hetzner, you can start with lowest and scale it up anytime if you need more performance. Best time you can try it out, they have until Black Friday LTD offers

Kevin HeinrichsΒ im a bit confused about xcloud LTD. It says bring your own server. What does that mean?
David ScurlockΒ xCloud does only manage your servers. So you need a server from Hetzner, Vultr etc. The servers you can install directly from their dashboard also
Kevin HeinrichsΒ I may just go with their managed plan which is $12mo that maybe just enough to setup FC then go from there.
David ScurlockΒ That plan would work for testing or a small production site without lots of traffic. I use xCloud also and it is great. However, after getting it setup, make sure PHP Opcache is enabled to get the best performance. I believe it is still disabled by default in xCloud.
Thomas OatesΒ that is all I need for the moment and this is just for FC setup. Once the entire site is up then I will need a higher plan. Copy that for opcache.
