I hope you're all doing well. I'm reaching out because I could really use your expertise on an issue I'm facing, and I believe your experience could help me tremendously.
My Setup
I've recently installed Fluent Community Pro, and I'm absolutely loving it! I'm actually using almost the entire Fluent ecosystem, which has been fantastic. I've built a multipage platform where one of the pages is dedicated to Fluent Community, and I've been setting everything up carefully.
Current Situation
I'm now at the stage where I'm ready to invite some friends for beta testing, which is exciting! However, I've run into what seems like a configuration issue that I can't quite figure out.
The Problem I'm Facing
I've successfully registered 5 friends as members, but here's where I'm stuck: they cannot create their own groups/spaces. They seem to be completely dependent on me (as admin) to create everything for them.
When I log in as a regular member to test, I don't see any option to create my own spaces or groups. This obviously isn't the user experience I was hoping for.
My Questions
I'm hoping someone in this wonderful community can help me understand:
- What setting might I have configured incorrectly (or missed entirely)?
- Is it possible for regular users to create their own spaces/groups in Fluent Community?
- Can members also create their own courses, or do they need to depend on admin privileges?
- Are there specific permission settings I should be looking at?
What I'm Looking For
I want to create an environment where my community members can be autonomous and creative - building their own spaces, managing their own groups, and potentially even creating courses without needing admin intervention for every little thing.
I've been through the settings multiple times, but I might be missing something obvious. Any guidance, tips, or even pointing me toward the right documentation would be incredibly appreciated!

From what I have read of other comments it seems that at the moment it is not possible for members to create their groups/spaces. This is likely on the minds of the team whom are helping to improve Fluent Community so it is good you added your comment.
Btw I am myself starting to use more and more of the Fluent products. My main focus at the moment is Fluent Forms, Fluent Social and Fluent Security (Auth). I am also looking into other products which I plan on testing and creating tutorials for.

1A-Institut Richter & Klug GmbH honestly i think it would be a mess if members could make spaces
FC as it is currently doesn't allow for regular members to create spaces. I think you could get around that with some custom code triggered by a Fluent Form. I believe they are working on a REST API document that presumably would include info on how to programmatically create spaces. Until then, it would require digging into the code to see how they are doing it. Good luck!
Maybe you could create a limited admin role. And assign that role to those people who can create spaces and courses. But you need to he carefull that you don't give them to much permissions.
I just checked it, for courses there is a specific permission you could give user that allow them to create courses. Something like: course_creator
Create Space is bit more diffecult for users if you want to use native UI without a external form.

I hear what you are saying and yeah I know what you mean, and I hear Andre Gois where it may get pretty messy etc. It would be good to limit a user group to like 1 Space or something.

THINK WITHIN PORTAL SETTING YOU CAN CREATE A MANAGER WHO SHOULD THEN HAVE PRIVILEGES
Im setting my one to have a space suggestion page. So members could vote for a new space and if there is merrit and support then I will implement. Ive got a page set up with Fluent Boards/Roadmap for this, so that members can vote or add a new idea for the space etc.
Else you can make one of those mates an admin/manager and get them doing it ;)

I would like people to be able to add tags which could essentially be a new branch of sorts. But I absolutely don't want them creating new spaces or groups. But we all have different businesses and ways we like to do things. I'm sure eventually there will be more and more features.
Wendy Shoef Same here. Imagine the disorder. I would lose my mind with users having their own spaces. Looking forward to the next update though. It has been way too long and I am curious to what the next step will bring.
