Is there any way to disable the Feed tab in the community?
In private communities, having an empty Feed (for example, when a user doesn't yet have access to any spaces) feels a bit awkward.
Since the Feed is the default side bar top landing tab, showing an empty page with no content can also be confusing for new users. It would be great to have the option to disable or hide it when it's not needed.
It's a valid concern.
I appreciate the question. I think that tab is uselessly large as well. Takes up a lot of room on the page

Settings, Menu Settings, Feed disabled.
Coffs Trails so you really think that we haven’t all tried that out... That only disables the feed in the left sidebar. Not the top bar.
Anne-Sophie W Jorge de los Reyes We have fixed the issue in the last update. Now if you disable from the menu settings, it will be hidden from the left and top both.

Raiyan Marzan I have updated FC and disabled the Feed. The Feed section in the top bar is still there.. Are you sure that we can disable the Feed section when we disable it in the sidebar?
Anne-Sophie W If the feed is disabled from the primary menu items, it should be hidden from both the topbar and sidebar. If you are experiencing something different, please create a support ticket.
Raiyan Marzan There is a small UX issue with this.
If you disable the feed, and you have a custom top link that redirects to a landing page with theme compatibility, the sidebar selector touches a bit the sidebar top margin. Probably, if we can add some top padding there it won’t look like it’s broken.
Same happens if your top side bar link is a custom page. It’s almost surpassing the top bar of the side bar. I can send a picture if needed 😅

Raiyan Marzan It seems like I coudn't convey the problem because you are still referring to something else. What I would like removed is this massive bar called Feed (Flux in French on the screenshot)

Regarding the UX issue I am referring to the fact that when you disable the "Feed" tab from Menu settings, the next available tab will be (probably), a custom landing page or link.
In this cases, theres is a lack of padding on the top of the button tab. Both on normal, hover or active mode.
I am attaching pictures so as Raiyan Marzan can see what I am referring to.
Basically, the official tab (Feed) has a padding. But custom landing pages (like a top link) does not have it.
Anne-Sophie W Just read your comment about Flux. Yep. The post was about Global feed - and not about the flux area. But, that being said, I think it could be a great addition to the customizations of every space.
My guess, Raiyan was not thinking about this taking into account the topic of the thread 😅

AS W Regarding the bar, we currently don't have any option to customize or remove it. For now, the only workaround is to hide it using custom CSS

My single plugin for everything fcom has the option to set different menus for logged in and logged out users. if this helps just wait ill share it with everybody for free today
