Gamify anything by awarding XP and build an Economy around XPs
Hi, the feature that I am requesting needs a bit of understanding.
In any community, engagement is the key metric for success. While gamification through badges works well, I want a feature to reward any action with experience points (XP).
That is, not depending on the predefined actions of the community, I must be able to create custom criteria for rewards and awards.
E.g. I post a checklist for members to do.
On doing it, the members can check each item and earn XP that I have configured.
Please have a look at xperiencify.com LMS. For each lesson, the author can add as many parameters for earning XPs. I wish I can do that as well.
The end result is that there will be a wide variety of awards/badges and a number of ways to accumulate XPs.
Also, a way to buy, exchange, gift, donate XPs among members - this will create a mini economy.
Thirdly, a Shop where XPs can be exchanged for real goods, services, privileges etc.
Now the economy will really grow!
This currently exists with Gamipress so I think the fastest route would be to have an integration built between the two platforms.
I watched the Xperiencify video and they go in-depth on gamification, which is great.Β @Jewel, you should take a look at their site.Β It would be nice to have FluentCommunity build in some if not all of the seven gamifications Xperiencify offers.Β Nice but not necessary.
With that said, Xperiencify limits your active users and published courses and starts at $99 per month and goes to $299 per month if your site gets popular.Β FluentCommunity is a one-time payment of $199 for lifetime access and updates so to be fair to Shahjahan Jewel and team, they are already providing a lot of value.
Moreover, while it would be amazing to not have to install more plugins, I think we can already accomplish what Xperiencify provides with existing options.Β Take a look at GamiPress or MyCred plugins.Β They are fully established plugins and do exactly what you're looking to do.Β I went with GamiPress because:
-
They already have FluentCRM and FluentForms integration and Iβm reaching out to their team about FluentCommunity integration.
-
I was less interested in being a bank.Β You can do point exchanges and purchase with points on both plugins, but MyCred has more banking features.
I was ready to launch https://practicalportugal.com today but I decided that I'm going to install FluentCommunity and GamiPress before I launch.Β Hopefully I'll be able to quickly get both up and running so I can launch tomorrow or Thursday, December 5, 2024 by the latest.Β Either way, I'll be able to report back on how easy or hard it was.
Hereβs what Iβm planning that I think aligns with the type of engagement we want for our sites.
β’ Reward new users who sign up with an overlay popup showing their earned credits and an early adopter Member badge.Β That special Member badge will be limited to X amount of new Members.
β’ Reward Members who make their first post to the FluentCommunity Space (I will try to auto sign them up for the Space on registration.)
β’ Reward Members with points for each new post or each comment they make on the FluentCommunity Space.
β’ Reward Members with points for coming back to the site every day and award special badges for 7 day streak and 30 day streak.
β’ I wasnβt planning on having any courses but I might make a course to welcome new Members on the features of the site and how to navigate the site and then give them a reward for completing the welcome walk-through.
If you have any specific badges, rewards or point activations you want for your site, let me know and Iβll test them out on my site to see if itβs possible.Β If this works out, Iβll make a video on how the rest of the FluentCommunity users can do the same.
