Fluentplayer video watchtime?
Hi. Team,
I am really looking forward to the upcoming release of FluentPlayer. I am currently planning to use it for an LMS setup and have two specific questions regarding its roadmap and features:
- Individual Watch Time Analytics: Will the player be able to track and store "watch time" data for specific logged-in users? I need to know if I can track how much of a video a specific user has watched (e.g., for lesson progress tracking).
- Bunny.net Stream Integration: Is there a plan for native integration with Bunny.net Stream?
This is very important to my future plan.
Any information on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Hello!
I can confirm both: it works flawlessly.
Itβs similar to Presto in concept, but with Fluentβs simplicity and lightning-fast performance.
Now, a heads-up: Iβd think twice before using this for a large LMS (maybe fine for small catalogs).
The real question is whether youβll actually use these reports for anything meaningful. Most of the time, this kind of setup shines for marketing campaigns, custom CTAs, smart automationsβ¦ not for heavy educational catalogs.
If you manage many courses, this quickly becomes an unnecessary layer of work for a feature you may end up using in just a few lessons. Iβm sharing this from firsthand experience: we deployed this approach at scale in big e-learning environmentsβ¦ only to realize it didnβt justify the overhead, and we had to migrate everything back.
Keeping all videos on Bunny has been a far better long-term solution. And using this type of enhanced player only for marketing videos is, in my view, the smarter play.
Plus, Bunny keeps shipping incredible updates: auto-translated captions, multilingual audio, and a growing list of AI-era features. If you want to leverage that, remember youβll need to re-upload video by video when using a custom player. (You will also lose the feature of VAST ads which are pretty niche, but good to consider).
We all love analytics⦠but without a real use case, they turn into beautiful tables full of numbers no one acts on. They weigh nothing, sure: but unused data is still unused data.
Hope it helps!
(And yes, itβs coming with some wild new features perfectly aligned with where AI-powered marketing is heading. Iβll stop here: no spoilers π)
Jorge de los Reyes are they going to lunch this year ?
Andre GoisΒ Iβve no idea of the ETA.
The version I tried, even a beta, was, imho, ready to ship.
The funny part: even on beta, it was noticeable faster than other similar tools that have been on the market for years.
Just my opinion: It could probably be something we can expect next 2026.
They have a LOT of side projects cooking: we may see some, or maybe not.
I think that will depend on which specific needs they discover in the community + growth strategy overall.
Taking into account that they are already using it on their production sites: probably it will come soon. As it has been the case with community, affiliates or boards.
π³π³π³ Ninjas, please release it! ππΌππΌππΌ or, um, I volunteer as a tester! A paid tester - yeah, thatβs what we can call it. π
Jorge de los ReyesΒ Points noted about use cases (scale & marketing vs courses). Thanks for the real word advice.
Charlotte D How many hidden things are still going undercover without us noticing? π
I hope Mr. Faizus Saleheen is taking notes β Iβd love to see a βOne Day Inside the WPMN Officeβ series.
These guys are building nonstop. Absolute machines.
Thanks for the detailed info. Not being able to use Presto Player has been a real limitation for many of us. We desperately need the native player.
βWhether it's a beta or pre-sale, count me in. Iβll grab the LTD instantly without hesitation!
μ€λ³΄μΒ Absolutely!
Reports enhancement is a must need in FC.
Iβm sure youβll definitely love the player. Hopefully we can see it soon!
Best of successes!
Aw crap. I just pulled the trigger on Presto's LTD. I also didn't know about the cost difference between Presto Storage and Stream. I'm looking for a non-YouTube, non-Vimeo video hosting for courses. Any help is appreciated.
Christian FrankΒ with or without presto you will need a streaming / hosting service.
So thereβs no actual difference between presto storage vs others (presto will just save your player settings and would occupy a couple of MBs). No storing of videos.
This kind of tools only allows you to add enhancements to the player, but do not play any role as hosting or streaming services.
If you do not know it, go for bunny (referral) and never look back.
Itβs absolutely reliable and inexpensive.
More precisely βBunny streamβ is the service you should check.
Unlike Vimeo, it does not have hidden clauses that could cost you thousands of dollars for exceeding the bandwidth. You play per use, with budget limits.
Works seamlessly: must have!
Jorge de los ReyesΒ Pulled the trigger on Bunny, and it's been working perfectly. Thanks for this!
Christian FrankΒ happy to read that Christian!
It's always a pleasure to recommend tools when they are top notch!
Years working with bunny, and no problem. And with Fluent community, it literally flies :)
Jorge de los ReyesΒ Most definitely. I've followed your posts over the years, as we have common backgrounds and intentions. I'm an attorney with a background in IT focused on building communities, so I hound your posts on this group for insight. βΊοΈ
Β Christian FrankΒ Appreciate that, seriously π
That mix is rare, and sometimes it helps to find the difference between noise and leverage :)
Glad the posts are useful.
I share what Iβm building, what breaks, and what moves the needle -no fluff.
If thereβs anything specific youβre building or stuck on, happy to compare notes!
Always a pleasure π
Keep building!
Jorge de los ReyesΒ Is this a media player, like Presto, offering both audio and video options? Thank you
DDΒ yep. To me, it was like presto, but faster (in my experience, of course: Iβm comparing with a +600 video gallery on Presto).
I browsed a bit through the settings, and this was a couple of months ago. Didnβt tried the audio option, but it rings a bell it was over there too.
As I said: pretty alike to presto but with the simplicity and lightness that is typical of fluent.
Jorge de los ReyesΒ Awesome, thank you!
Jorge de los ReyesΒ can i upload youtube links from other people into the bunny player?
Andre GoisΒ bunny player is for bunny videos. Either you upload them to bunny or you upload them through any bunny integration.
Both in presto and fluent player you can use YouTube URLs directly so as to enhance the player (eg.: avoid recommended videos).
That being said, that can go against YouTube guidelines (use this kind of embed); and downloading without permission could be troublesome (IP, copyright, etc).
Soβ¦
Can you embed YouTube videos? : yes
Can you embed bunny videos?: yes
Just take into account you have the right permissions / authorizations of that content.
Jorge de los ReyesΒ understood. Thank you very much
Shahjahan Jewel Do we have an ETA on FluentPlayer??
Christian FrankΒ yes please
+1 to hear from you Shahjahan JewelΒ . It would be really appreciated.
Jorge de los ReyesΒ Do you have any updates on the media player? Shahjahan JewelΒ having nothing to say on point sends a negative message (silence communicates), so I was encouraged by your post and appreciate your communication. Thank you again.

DDΒ
No updates from my side beyond what was already mentioned.
I shared the alpha opinion because it existed and was in the works, but I donβt have visibility on release plans.
Appreciate the communication though - it definitely helps.
Some users (me included) have been sharing communication ideas recently because we all would love to be more βtunedβ with the actual works. But thereβs no official statement regarding possible updates of the communication ideas or policies.
Hopefully, a topic to be addressed this 2026!
Jorge de los ReyesΒ Thank you. Glad to hear that you're sharing comm's ideas, I hope Shahjahan JewelΒ and team take note. Silence and lack of acknowledgement send a strong message, and not one that encourages community engagement or loyalty.
