FluentCommunity in a separate WordPress installation?
Hi,
I have a question as I haven't found the right answer from the community. I only found a post about the beta version but don't know if it's still up to date.
I would like to use FluentCommunity in an existing WordPress site. The site is already very large with many users and a large database. I'm torn as to what makes more sense: install FluentCommunity in the existing site or use a separate WordPress installation with a user sync?
Do you have a recommendation for me?

If the existing WP settings are heavy customized (security, caching etc) then it would be easier to install it on a separate instance to avoid potential conflicts but it is always nice to have 1 WP instance instead of 2 kids - the easiest way is to install it and mayne test it out with small group of users.
Mat Thank you, you're right. That is precisely the point. The existing page is heavily modified and uses caching. It has about 600 users. That's what makes me want to create my own site. I just want to somehow save myself the sync of the users, because I don't trust it to work well. I found this: https://codexpert.io/share-logins/

Christoph Haubner here you have perfect example of community with +13k users - I am not sure what is the setup or how active are users in all Secret Spaces but the users number is not small

Maybe awesome Augustine Makachemu (Mak) could tell you if there is something you should worry about when managing large community.
Ps. If you won't like the fCommunity on your primary domain then you can delete it (it use separate db tables for the fCommunity so it is easy to clean up)
Mat Thanks for the example. Doesn't make it any easier. :-) But I would like to move the site to my own cloud server soon and then definitely test this in the main site first, so that I can perhaps save the second installation.
