FluentCommunity 2.5.0 is here - and there's a lot to talk about πŸŽ‰

It's been busy for a while behind the scenes, and finally sharing FluentCommunity 2.5.0 with you all.

Here's a quick rundown of what's new πŸ‘‡

  • πŸ”’ Sequential Lesson Lock (Pro) This was probably the most requested course feature in the last few months. Now Lesson 2 stays locked until Lesson 1 is finished, and so on. Great for structured training, certification flows, and any course where the order actually matters. You can turn it on per course, it's not all-or-nothing.

This also connects directly to the bigger conversation we started a few days ago about where the Course module should go next. If you haven't shared your input yet, please do your feedback is literally what shapes our roadmap: πŸ‘‰ https://community.wpmanageninja.com/portal/space/community-meta/post/where-should-we-take-courses-next-nee

  • πŸ“± A much better mobile experience. Mobile got a lot of love this release. The top header and bottom nav now slide away as you scroll down and come back when you scroll up β€” same feel as a native app. There's a new Scroll-to-Top button across feeds, lessons, and profiles. Safari's URL bar tucks away properly on iPhone now. And right-to-left layouts finally work the way they should.

  • πŸ”” A smarter Notifications system. Busy communities mean busy notifications, so we made it easier to find what matters. A new Unread tab shows only what you haven't seen. A Recent popover gives you the last 20 at a glance without leaving the page.

  • πŸ“… Post Scheduling for Space admins: Space admins can now set posts to go out later.

  • πŸ‘€ Courses tab on member profiles You can now see which courses a member is taking right from their profile. Easy way to spot study buddies or get a feel for what people are into.

  • πŸ“₯ Bulk Import Welcome Email opt-in A small but very useful one. When you bulk import members, you now decide whether they get the WordPress welcome email or not.

Other things you'll notice:

  • Copy button on code blocks (perfect for tech and learning communities)
  • Clean URLs for non-English communities: Bengali, Arabic, Chinese, Russian, etc.
  • You can finally remove a profile or cover photo, not just replace it
  • Safer admin Customization page that only saves what you changed
  • Stronger login security β€” errors no longer reveal if a username exists
  • A long list of fixes: search modal remembers your results, pinned posts stay pinned, iOS video issues sorted, smoother invite flow, and more

Nice update. But I would love to see a theme functionality in the future so we can built our own style of FC.

I would love to built this without needing to hack it all together: https://community.wpmanageninja.com/portal/space/community-meta/post/i-have-made-a-fluentforum-look

Love it πŸ–€

Greetings- I love the changes. I would make one suggestion as an educator, you should allow an explanation option when someone answers a question. Right or Wrong, their should be an option for an "Explanation" to every question in the quiz. That way answers can be explained and it only gets revealed once the student submits their choice. Kinda like the HELP TEXT field but again only revealed to support the correct answer.

Great update as usual! Keep the good work!

For next update could you consider this please:

  1. Turn off comments in posts globally in a space not only post by post.
  2. The option to write a post and post it in more than one space at a time (now you can select only one space).

Thanks a lot!

The Fluent team makes me feel so excited to be using WordPress.

That’s an amazing update, and soon after the last one (that was a bit disappointing in comparison, imo) For once, one of my suggestions have come true so I’m glad. Keep up the good work! Updates like these remind me that I should be patient because you product is really becoming better month after month!

Transform our own LMS portal into the ultimate live product demo!

Hi Shahjahan Jewel,

Amazing updates in FluentCommunity 2.5.0! The Sequential Lesson Lock and the native-app-like mobile behavior are absolute game-changers for creators looking to move away from bulky corporate setups like LearnDash.

Speaking of how we can showcase these incredible capabilities, I have a strategic suggestion from i am:

Instead of sending potential buyers or new users to external landing pages or documentation sites to learn how to use the plugin (like the current FluentCommunity Introductory Guide link), we should host these introductory guides and onboarding tracks directly inside our own LMS module (e.g., at community.wpmanageninja.com/portal/courses).

By setting up a dedicated "FluentCommunity 101" Academy right inside our portal, we are practicing the ultimate "Show, Don't Tell" strategy.

  • Experience the UX First-hand: Potential buyers can navigate the modules, unlock sequential lessons, and interact with the attached community features right inside the course. They are being converted by the platform's infrastructure itself, rather than marketing copy.
  • Accelerate Time-to-Value: New users can see immediate, real-world blueprint use cases of how a native course looks and functions, lowering friction and helping them achieve success with FC much faster.

Let's let the software speak for itself by transforming our learning space into a living case study!

Hoang HxnΒ Awesome idea :D

Hoang HxnΒ nothing to learn about it, really. How to go to click a settings button on front end and save settings? Courses for such things is nonsense. Courses for developing on top of fcom also wouldnt make any sense.

Hoang Hxn

Cointacter 😎 How to make money with FluentCommunity

Cointacter

Hoang HxnΒ thats general WP waters not fcom specifically. Fcom needs more plugins just to be able to charge for anything on WP site which is using fcom. No ads manager here, no access restrictions. Anything that would be bringing money would be wp not fcom itself

AS W

CointacterΒ no, there would be plenty to learn, namely when it comes to the styling of the course page, which is quite a headache. Any real-life example would be welcome. Nobody on this community seem to have launched any course yet.

With that being said, I believe that courses in general are quite useless considering that anything you learn on those videos can be explained by AI or at least books. Always amuses me to see how many people launch a course on how to set a dropshipping website (for example), when everything you learn is just plain obvious and never groundbreaking. Language courses teach you for one full video how to say I am, You are, He is etc, when likewise, you can learn that quickly on your own. There's no added value.

Anne-Sophie WΒ ive not even looked at creating courses as my brain understands itll change dramatically until i will need to make courses. And i still dont think courses that explain where to click what button are needed, docs are for that. Believe me im not talking random sentences. Direct example - greenshift had video lessons and normal Docs. Video lessons gotta be edited with Updates and still its not so smooth to look at a video for such small thingies. And everybody still use docs over Video lessons, its a headache to create docs as videos especially maintain it, and especially courses.

Quick note about the new Scroll To Top button: when you're scrolled down the page and the chat widget is open, the button overlaps the send button, making it hard to type. This doesn't happen in fullscreen mode since the page no longer scrolls.

Here's a CSS workaround until a native fix is available:

/* Hide scroll-to-top button when the chat widget is open */
.chat-widget--open ~ .fcom_scroll_to_top,
body:has(.chat-widget--open) .fcom_scroll_to_top {
    display: none !important;
}

Paste this in your FluentCommunity custom CSS field, and remove it once the issue is resolved.

Shahjahan JewelΒ Ideally, the button could be hidden or repositioned below the widget when .chat-widget--open is present β€” since it serves no purpose while the chat is open anyway.

Sequential Lesson Lock is amazing

Quick question about Space admins: is there now a way to let a member be the admin of their own space, but no other? So far, the options have always been Community admin, community moderator and Course admin and course creator...

Anne-Sophie W, you can make a member of a space as admin/mod from the space member directory, it is there from the beginning.

And in this update we configured space level admins to be able to schedule posts (earlier it was bound to community level admins)

AS W

Tawsif Ahmed RiyadΒ thank you for your answer. Alright, good news, but why are so many of those options so opaque? Fc isn’t as straight forward as it’s made out to be and it’s a bit tiring. And we could really use a public roadmap to know what’s coming up (as we keep asking)

Adam George

Need schedule posts for Wordpress authors and editors.

Space admins is a good start.

Abu Hurayra

Alhamdulillah!

Tindaro Battaglia

in the notifications, the notification reacted to your post and comment are hardcoded and not translatable

Claudy Scoufy

Tindaro BattagliaΒ Tawsif Ahmed RiyadΒ : Exactly! Same for messaging (group chat)...

AS W

Could we have the option to assign one of more members as admins of only one space?

Could there be an option for one post to be posted to one other (or more) groups at the same time?

Could you work on adjusting the size of photos and banners and enhancing the quality of photos in posts? (Previously asked)

Shahjahan JewelΒ thank you!

Hoang Hxn

Shahjahan JewelΒ Hide Mobile Header and Footer on Scroll should include the experience for lessons within the Course πŸ˜‰

Bob

Great step in the right direction with scheduled posts. I've now let's try to get drafts to be a thing!

Chris Davis

I'm experiencing strange behavior on mobile for auto hiding footer and header along with the new notification dropdown: https://www.loom.com/share/c54f78512e424a498f456345b7af7183

Chris Davis, the feature (hide mobile bars on scroll down) has to be turned on from Settings > Customization. And on this site, it is by default disabled.

Chris Davis

Tawsif Ahmed RiyadΒ ok. So when the footer auto hides when the notification is expanded is intentional?

Chris Davis, the notification issue you showed, I couldn't recreate it in both of my Android and iOS device. What browser are you using?

Update: I saw the bug, it will be fixed, thank you.

Chris Davis

Tawsif Ahmed RiyadΒ ok, great.

Hind

I can see the β€œComplete Lesson” button in my structured course, but the lessons are still clickable and not locked sequentially. I updated FluentCommunity to the latest version, but I can’t find the Sequential Lesson Lock setting anywhere. Could you please tell me exactly where to enable it?
