Fluent Community Remains The Best Among The Rest

I wake up every morning and say God, thank you for making fluent community available.

Everything about it is so amazing, unbeatable, and well-structured...

More people should be aware of this great community plugin...

100% on this. Started with Mighty Networks. Next it was Circle. Then Buddy Boss. And then came Fluent Community. Blown away. Love it. Can't imagine life without it.

So true, Fluent team are champions :)

So many features are missing... Like Event Calendar

Erik JonesΒ yes and I'm sick and tired of having to browse this forum in search of addons made by other people, which are often still at an early stage of developement and that might become obsolete when (if) FC finally develops them. Tired of the lack of roadmap for this reason too!

I was thinking just the same thing, what I have built (and continue build!) is truely amazing(in my eyes!). I concider myself a photographer over a developer, but with this mcp and and the combo with snippets and to top that with xCloud at my fingers, I feel like I have super powers lol! I got umami fired up for my site stats and hooked the api into a page via a shortcode. Its fricken amazing what can be done with this! Making my dream a reality, thank you Fluent Ninjas πŸ‘Š

This is perhaps the 4th time I read such praising comments about FC coming from the same guy, Bryan William. I don't know, it just seems disgenuine, as if you were paid to promote it. Beside, what's your community, Bryan WilliamΒ ? Can you show us what you've built and how successful it is?

Because I personally find that FC is a half baked product and that too little effort is put into developing it, both in terms of features and user experience/look. I am personally not happy with it (yet) and the fact that there is still no public roadmap and that users' suggestions like mine keep being ignored, really annoy me.

No community made by FC clients is well developed and successful...never topping more than a few users... It looks all very bland to me.

Anne-Sophie WΒ I think part of the enthusiasm comes from the fact that many of us came from other community platforms and were honestly frustrated with them. When FluentCommunity appeared, a lot of users immediately started pushing the team to make it public because we saw the potential very early on.

That said, I also agree FC still needs a lot of improvements, polish, UX revisions, and a clearer roadmap. I don’t think most users would deny that.

But at the same time, many of us genuinely like the direction because the Fluent ecosystem solves problems that other platforms either overcomplicate or price aggressively (Eg.: Buddyboss); or simply ignore and never create a community feature (eg.: Thrive Suite).

Also, for anyone operating in Europe, there is another important layer here: GDPR and compliance. With any community platform, you have to be extremely careful about what you activate, how user data is handled, cookies, tracking, notifications, user-generated content, moderation, etc. The legal exposure can become significant very quickly if things are not configured properly. There are still many specs on this missing.

So I think there’s room for both perspectives. Being excited about the potential while still being critical about the current limitations.

…or maybe Bryan WilliamΒ  is just a ninja in disguise. Who knows

As the saying goes: on the internet, nobody knows you’re a dog 🐢

Jorge de los ReyesΒ haha, loved the meme you made! I certainly didn't want to insult his feelings, but it just felt a bit odd, and thanks to your message I understand why he might be actually, truly enthusiastic.

I mostly wish the roadmap was made public and that we could actually vote for the next features instead of suggesting them and being ignored and not knowing where the product is heading next, because I have a defined idea of what I want, and it is completely unachievable as of today with the current FC product, and I don't want to commission somebody to make an addon for me that might become a core feature within a few months. I mean, it's not being demanding to ask where the product we have backed up is heading....Roadmaps are the least we can ask for in fact...

Anne-Sophie W Haha, I get you. And no worries, I didn’t read it as an insult either. Probably just curiosity.

But who knows. On a bad day, we can all misread other people’s words and take things personally.

Btw, there is actually a public roadmap here, in case you missed it:
https://community.wpmanageninja.com/fluentcommunity-roadmap/#/26/

I think that is currently the β€œofficial” place for feature requests, although I agree the setup is a bit confusing. There is the roadmap, there are community discussions, and there are feature request posts inside the community itself, so it is not always obvious where feedback should go or which channel is actually being used for prioritisation.

I also agree that a clearer public roadmap per product would help a lot. Not because users should dictate the product, but because it helps us make better decisions: whether to wait, build a workaround, commission custom development, or change plans.

From what I have seen, some community suggestions do become real features within months. Others never get an ETA, or never happen at all.

I understand that from a product perspective: demand, resources, technical debt, long-term vision, and focus all matter. But from a customer perspective, the lack of visibility can be frustrating, especially when you are trying to build something serious on top of the product.

I have told the team a few times that some kind of β€œbuild in public” or behind-the-scenes updates would help a lot. Short videos or posts like β€œHey, this is what we have been working on lately”.

cc: Shahjahan JewelΒ

Especially because I have seen them spend nights and days improving the products while the community was getting nervous. And I was sure many people would change their minds if they knew what was actually being worked on.

So yes, I think the real issue here is not β€œthey don’t listen”. I think they often do. The issue is communication and prioritisation visibility.

And to be fair, with thousands of users asking for different things, sometimes getting a β€œSeen” or β€œNoted” already feels like magic haha.

Hopefully, as they adopt more AI internally, iteration speed and feedback loops will keep improving.

Jorge de los ReyesΒ Yes I totally agree with you; quick feedbacks on our suggestions and behind the scenes posts from time to time would definitely help; I know they work a lot and have released 2 big updates within a month of each other as proof (even though not much of what they did was particularly needed imo); an actual, updated roadmap would be already a good start (I know they have one, which they haven't updated in almost a year). I just want to know if I should commission somebody to do something I need, which I wouldn't care to do if I knew that they would not work on my idea in the foreseeable future (none of the ideas I suggested are over the top. I think they all could benefit everybody. i.e, being able to resize profile and banner images that get cropped / fixing the quality of images in posts)
