Fluent community PWA is coming...
For those of you paying for external developers PWA, please be patient and have a rethink.
That's a great news.
Can anyone explain what's so exciting about a web app? I don't think web apps are practical on desktop. Does that mean it is more user friendly on the phone?
Anne-Sophie WΒ They are very very practical on mobile phones
Anne-Sophie WΒ it turns a mobile website into an installable mobile app. So your community gets its own icon and in your app history/drawer it's its own thing, not a chrome tab. It then enables the ability to add push notifications which are shown to come through the app and link directly to the app. It's the same as having an app in the app store without the need for an app store. It does also work on desktop and your community then runs in its own window and has its own taskbar shortcut/icon.
Since we can't get the real app, let's start with pwa.
I made my own. It is not that hard.
Ross also has made one version but I haven't really tried it out
Is this something official or just something that you saw in a post and felt overwhelmed with happiness?
Ioannis GlossopoulosΒ a dev said it in a comment somewhere
