Fluent Community & CRM

Curious how many people have fluent community and CRM installed on the same site. I’m always hesitant to have resource intensive plug-ins installed together, especially ones that are community related, but it would obviously be useful to have the CRM to tag people and give access to specific spaces. I also want to give access to static pages, but unfortunately it doesn’t seem like the CRM can do that now so I would have to get something like a WP fusion, in which case I wonder if having the CRM on the same domain is even worth it or I should have it on a subdomain to split resources.

Yep I do. Site speed is great. Using Cloudways Digital Ocean 4 GB ram β€œBasic - Standard - Medium.”

But I’m not a heavy user of FCRM and I just launched my FComm.

I run FluentCommunity and FluentCRM together on the same site. No issues at all. They’re built to integrate (tags, automations, onboarding), and performance’s been great.

Kaneisha G.

Gee AdriaanszΒ how much do you use FCRM? Is it just to manage FC access or are you using it for email marketing, etc.?

Gee Adriaansz

Kaneisha G.Β both! Community + crm + cart are my core business plugins

Kaneisha G.

Gee AdriaanszΒ is that Fluent Cart, SureCart, or something else?

We have a separate installation for the community part.

Nicolai

Florian V.Β Does that mean people have to have two logins? (one for the main site and one for community)

Florian V.

Nicolai GrutΒ As we sell via Freemius, they don't have a login to our marketing website at all.

Nicolai

Florian V. Ah, ok, that makes it easier to separate the sites. I thought about separating them but since people log in to my main site, it seems like it would be too complicated for them to have two.

I have installed FCRM alongside FluentCommunity now (+ several other Fluent plugins) and I didn't notice any measurable change in speed since installing FluentCRM.

Early days of course, but very encouraging. Β

Bob

Nicolai GrutΒ That is why there are magic link plugins so you can just have people request a link. There are also ways to sync passwords between sites and have automatic persistent logins with plugins like mini orange.

Nicolai

BobΒ thanks for the tips, I've never heard of mini orange, I'll have a look.

I tried password syncing once and it was not a great experience.

It's an additional level of complexity that I just don't want to deal with as a solo admin

Bob

Nicolai GrutΒ They have options for SAML SSO (single sign on) so you could login to one site, then click a link off that site to be auto logged into the next. I looked into them but wasn't ready to commit. It seems a bit complex as well. One way you could get around it like I said is using a magic link from either site so you just ask people to enter their email and get sent a link. I see more and more sites doing that.

Jean Hamilton-Fford

Yep. No problems and I use FCRM for email marketing as well.

If you separate the websites, they are still on the same server, so it doesn't really make much sense. So I'll do it on the same page right away. I have to say WP Manage Ninja did a wonderful job there.

Bob

Lukas ListΒ Actually that is not correct. You can obviously have different servers which is very easy to do with Cloudways for example.

Lukas List

BobΒ 2 servers is OK if you really want that...

Bob

Lukas ListΒ It takes 2 seconds to spin up another cheap server with Cloudways and various other platforms...

Bob

My only gripe would be that you can't protect pages (correct me if I'm wrong) with FluentCRM via tagging like you can with WPFusion.

Lukas List

BobΒ I use this plugin to protect the pages and posts... https://de.wordpress.org/plugins/page-and-post-restriction/

Bob

Lukas ListΒ Thanks. I already know how to protect pages using WPFusion. I was remarking about how FluentCRM doesn't have that capability.

Nicolai

Is there any way to tag people in CRM who join through the Community? I need to separate the newsletters for the community members from the regular Wordpress site users.

The only way I can see to do it now is to tag every signup on my site, so that anyone with no tags would be a community member but that will fail one day when I add a form to a lead magnet and forget to tag them.

I could see doing an automation to tag people who join a space, but it's possible to signup as a community member without joining any spaces.
