π¨ Feature Requests & UX Feedback
Iβd like to share a few ideas that could really improve the course experience and management:
-
Reports Module β At the moment, there are no reports for courses. This is a critical gap β we need visibility on course data.
-
Course Completion Progress Bar β On the portal/courses page, progress is always shown in the same colour. Adding a clear βcompleted = greenβ state would instantly show which courses are started vs. finished (see screenshots 1 & 2).
-
Course Navigation UX β When a course has many modules, completed modules should auto-collapse. Alternatively, the sidebar scroll should βfollowβ where the user currently is. Otherwise, itβs extremely easy to get lost among dozens of lessons.
-
End of Course Experience β After completing the final lesson, the user is left with no message/redirect. It would be much better to:
- Redirect them to Course Overview or a completion screen.
- Show a celebration animation (like the confetti in Fluent Boards) to make the finish more engaging.
-
βLog in as this Userβ Function β A common feature in LMS platforms, very helpful for student management and troubleshooting.
-
Course Access vs. Membership β This is a big limitation:
- Right now, enrolling a user always adds the Access Management Tag.
- This works for memberships but not for standalone course purchases.
- Workaround (creating one tag per course) is not scalable β imagine managing hundreds of courses under a membership.
-
Conclusion β Because of point 6, itβs currently impossible to handle memberships and standalone courses in the same ecosystem. This is a blocker for platforms (like ours) that sell both.
-
Shortcodes for courses β we really need to be able to show courses on other pages (landings, and so). Otherwise, if we have a private community, there's no actual way to "show off" the courses.
-
Continue where you left last time β we really need this. And a shortcode for showing a box with "Continue here" or alike, will also be handy.
π These improvements would make course management smoother, user experience more intuitive, and member handling more flexible.
any of this is implemented?
Vibe CodeΒ I wish π
Jorge de los ReyesΒ :/ looks like I need to work harder - got a customer who needs more from fluentcommunikty courses... some bits from your list + lesson advanced drip scenarios... I thought FluentCommunity moved forward and developed more features around courses... dreams
Vibe CodeΒ maybe tagging Shahjahan JewelΒ so as someone from the fluent community team can share some insights on this could be helpful for improving FC features π
Jorge de los ReyesΒ I've tagged big boss way too many times. he doesn't listen if it's not on his todo list
- on point no. 5, 'View Course' button option gets what you want. Using it you can view the course from student view.
- Point no. 9, if you click continue button, it will take you where you left last time, after the lesson you last completed.
- Point no. 4, 2, we are improving these.
Rest of the points, I will discuss with the team, thank you.
Tawsif Ahmed Riyad Thank you for the super-fast reply! π
- Login as a student: Is this an actual login as the user/student, or is it more of a βthis is how the student will see the courseβ preview? The original request was about the first option: being able to actually log in as that student/user. Iβm sure this will be handy too for FCRM.
- Continue where you left off: The idea here was to have a widget or shortcode that allows users, once they log in, to resume their last lesson from anywhere on the site. Many LMS platforms offer something similar, so students donβt have to navigate through Portal β Courses β Course β Last lesson every time they come back.
- Amazing news! π
Thanks again for the updates, and please let us know if thereβs anything we can do to help with testing, feedback, or anything else! π
Jorge de los Reyes, thanks for detailed reply. I will update here once any of the above gets implemented.
