Feature Request: Search by Space
It would be very helpful to have a small search function near the top of each Space which returns results only within that space.
The global search tool (top right corner of header) is very useful but only searches the entire community.
I also suggested this a while back. This is a must have.
Currently the search box functionality is very limited - it can search a keyword only in the main posts (1st level) but not in comments (level 2+ where usually you can find use full information and the answer).
It would be very useful to extend the search to comments content to comments. Unless it is already implemented and I don't see the way it works (on the offical.website I saw the search functionality desrlcribed as search in posts but I am not sure if its still there as this might not be the final version yet).
The search box give us also some error when the user search for a specific keyword and the keyword is included in a post that the user has no access to - the user doesnt belong to the Space where the post with that keyword was submitted.
This means that the search scope is wide (all Spaces) and it probably search in all posts in the community (no matter if the user has access to Spaces or not).
Search filter by Space should be implemented so the user can look for a specific keyword only in a single Space or Multiple Spaces.
For example: when you have 15 Spaces in total and those Spaces are your are dedicated to different topics or subjects or products and you are looking for a keyword "answer", "promo" you might need to limit the search scope to a single Space or Two Spaces instead of searching in unrelated Spaces etc.
Without a robust search system, the end result will be that it will be VERY difficult to browse old posts in a busy community, since the recent activity box shows only 5 and the only other option would be to scroll and scroll through the search results modal or on the feed itself.
Again, neither of these options is workable for a busy community with many posts.
I suppose I could look into building a custom search interface on the site frontend (using queries, listing items, filters etc). But I would much prefer being able to search effectively directly in the community.
For the record, Facebook’s search function has NOT addressed this issue effectively; it is quite hard to search effectively there.
