Feature Request: Enable Custom, Granular Roles & Capabilities in Fluent Community Spaces

Currently, Fluent Community only offers three fixed roles—Admin, Moderator, and User—but real‐world communities often need much finer control. Here’s why we should be able to define completely custom roles and assign precisely the capabilities each deserves:

1. Granular Permissions

   • Rather than “all or nothing,” let space owners toggle individual capabilities.

   • Example capabilities might include:

     • invite_members (send invites without picking from a WP user list)
     • create_events (publish and edit event pages)
     • moderate_posts (edit or remove discussion threads)
     • manage_announcements (post space‐wide notices)
     • access_analytics (view member activity reports)
     • hide admins from the members list

2. Example Tailored Roles for Your Workflow

   • Event Host

     • Can create and manage events, but cannot moderate forum threads.

   • Community Manager

     • Has both invite_members and moderate_posts, plus manage_announcements.

   • Onboarding Specialist

     • Only has invite_members and access_analytics—ideal for recruiters who need to track sign-ups without seeing private discussions.

3. Simplified UI & Better Security

   • A dedicated “Roles & Capabilities” screen where you:

     1. Click “Add New Role,” name it (e.g. “Inviter”),
     2. Tick the boxes for exactly the capabilities you want,
     3. Save and assign it per space.

   • This reduces the risk of over-privileging (e.g. giving Moderators full admin rights just so they can invite people).

4. Use Cases examples

   • Scalable Community Growth: Hand off member invitations to junior staff without granting them moderation or settings access.
   • Event-Driven Spaces: Let event volunteers publish schedules without exposing them to broader content moderation.
   • Content‐Only Contributors: Grant certain users the ability to post blog-style updates or resources, but not to invite or ban members.
