Feature Request: Add Option to Record Voice Messages via Microphone

I’d really love to have the ability to record voice messages directly via microphone, just like in WhatsApp or Telegram – and send them inside chats, forum replies, or comments.

I’m not referring to uploading an audio file – but rather an in-browser "record voice" feature that allows recording and sending voice messages instantly, without switching apps.

This would greatly improve the user experience, especially for people who prefer voice-based communication or require accessibility.

If there’s a plugin or workaround that supports this already – I’d appreciate your guidance 🙏
If not – I’d love to see it considered for future development.

Thanks in advance!

Looks like you can do that with https://www.better-messages.com/

Jonathan Gwyer Thanks so much for the suggestion 🙏
It’s an interesting direction, but I’m looking for something a bit more precise – not a new chat system, but rather an enhancement to the existing one.
Ideally, it would just add the ability to attach an audio message (or a voice file), like attaching a regular file – directly within the current chat or messaging interface, without adding a whole new chat layer.

If you know of something like that – I’d really appreciate it!

Yes, this would be a nice feature to implement into FluentCommunity. With BetterMessages, the option is there, but if you enable the "Group" messages functionality, then it leaves the FC Space and takes you to the BetterMessages Instant Message screen. There, you can record and playback a voice message, but this needs to be integrated into the overall FluentCommunity platform. I have members in my Community asking about this feature as well. And, I'm currently trying to find a free or low cost solution with another plugin, which I really don't want to do, add more plugins. I'm not sure how this is going to work because FC is a plugin itself, so I'm thinking that other plugins won't incorporate the way we're wanting it to be done.

Has this been added to the Roadmaps? I'm looking for a way that I can add my upvote to it...
