Feature Request: Add a “Details” Block – Improve UX for Community & Courses
Current Issue
FluentCommunity currently does not offer a “Details” block, which causes:
- Community posts and course lessons to become long and hard to read, especially on mobile.
- FAQs, checklists, and step-by-step guides to appear cluttered and overwhelming.
- Members and learners feeling overloaded with information at first glance.
Proposed Solution – Add a “Details” block (HTML <details> + <summary>):
- Clean and organized – collapse/expand content when needed.
- Better learning experience – reveal content gradually in lessons.
- SEO-friendly – all content remains indexable by Google.
- Lightweight and easy to implement – native HTML5, no heavy plugins required.
A small feature that can significantly enhance the user experience across both community interactions and course content delivery.

The course UI needs improvement including the next/prev button and the Complete Lesson(Mark Complete ) button. They should be underneath each lessons.
Billy Ramirez Yes, I agree with you that the user experience needs to be optimized. Like "Course Progress" should also be placed at the top of the lesson list instead of the bottom.
I agree with you. Such content blocks are absolutely necessary from the perspective of elearning lesson designs. I have already talked about it somewhere here .... Below is the excerpt from my comment in another post on this community
Even if lesson templates can not be created, Fluent Community team can at least enable custom shortcode features...or the ability to use blocks like Kadence blocks....to make the lesson content visually enriching and interactive. As you said...and as the eLearning pedagogy is adopting a new trend .....the trend is shifting from Video based courses to Text based interactive learning.
So, if Fluent Community is to remain relevant in the LMS space in the coming years, it should start thinking of ways to enable the lesson editor to accomodate more of the content blocks ...and thus should enrich the text based lesson creation feature, i.e. make the editor compatible with different interactive blocks.
Video courses are fastly moving in the direction of being traditional and less effective.
arjun arjun Yes, it lacks these. So it is difficult to present a lesson that is both easy to understand and still helps users focus.
Indeed, I'm not sure why all blocks from the editor are not available, that's a pity.
I found a workaround, I create a block (such as an embed, details, whatever) in a normal page or post, then copy it, and paste in a "Custom HTML" block inside the community course, it works but is not ideal
Patricia BT Yes, it is also a good tip but very inconvenient for users, especially newbies. I think Shahjahan Jewel Raiyan Marzan should add these Blocks.

I agree 100%. In Learndash, this is achieved with the "Materials" tab (see screenshot below), so the main content of the topic itself remains uncluttered.
In the "Materials" tab, we put a copy of all the slides and a transcript of the training video shown in the topic (using a PDF viewer plugin) so that students have a way to quickly access the content, or can do it on a text-based form if they prefer, without cluttering the main topic for the others.
It would be great if FluentCommunity could offer something similar. Your "details" suggestion might work, but I'm not sure it would allow content from other plugins (such as a PDF viewer).
Note that there is a "Materials" tab in groups as well, which is very useful as you can put there content for the whole course, and not topic specific. Such a tab in "spaces" in FluentCommunity would also be super useful, as we could put there downloadable content without cluttering the space itself.
A way for the student to take notes (with the title of the topic automatically saved and print/export to MS Word / PDF) would be great. We use a Learndash plugin for that.
FluentCommunity is great for simple online courses, but it can't replace Learndash yet (I don't think it's meant to).
I've requested Learndash integration with FluentCart, as this would allow us to sell Learndash courses with FluentCart until we are able to fully move to FluentCommunity.
For us, the biggest hurdle is that we can't use S3MediaVault with Cloudfront (for content protection) in FluentCommunity. It works with Amazon S3, but that leaves our content unprotected, so that's unfortunately not an option for us, as training content can be downloaded with any video downloader, which is a problem for premium courses.
Gamipress integration would also be needed, as gamification is a huge part of our training, and goes along with quizzes and reward points (that can be used as a discount to purchase other courses).
I have requested S3MediaVault and Gamipress integration as well as Learndash integration (ticket #131219) but it's unclear if it will happen.
As I'm not sure FluentCommunity will ever have the minimum amount of features we need to replace Learndash, I really hope that Learndash integration (and ideally Gamipress integration for rewards points at checkout) with FluentCart will be confirmed soon, otherwise we won't be able to move from EDD to FluentCart either.

Hoang Hxn Yes, on the other hand, to be fair, they never advertised FluentCommunity as a full LMS or as being able to replace Learndash.
It looks like as long as you have FluentCRM and are giving access to the same courses/groups for all price tiers, we'll be able to sell Learndash courses with FluentCart, so that's all we need for now (ideally with Gamipress integration so that customers can use their rewards points as a discount).
If FluentCommunity ever develops to a stage where it can replace Learndash fully, we'll migratre then, but it's not there yet. It's great for simple online courses if that's all you need, otherwise a proper LMS is still necessary.
Screenplay Unlimited I am using Leaderboard points to unlock levels that will give me access to a certain space or course. The only limitation is that the level description does not link to the space or course like Skool is doing.
Hoang Hxn Thanks, but we need Gamipress rewards points. We have dozens of customers who have already done courses and have accumulated points, they need to be able to use their rewards points. Also Leaderboards in FluentCommunity are related to the number of posts, not to progress and how well users do as they do the courses, which is what we reward with Gamipress. The better they do in the quizzes and the further they go in the course, the more reward points they get, which really helps with engagement. We ale use Gamipress Leaderboard to create competition in closed groups when people from the same company for example do the course at the same time. We need Gamipress integration, at least until FluentCommunity implements proper gamification in their courses.

I'm certainly not insterested in moving to another LMS from Learndash if it's not FluentCommunity (which I have already purchased), and I don't think it's cool to advertise for a new competitor in a FluentCommunity thread.
