FC app on mobile
I have installed the app on my iPhone. Now I need to scan a QR code. Where do I find it?
I want to give my members also the link to the app. What is the link and how do they activate the app?
What app is this? There's no Fluent Community app at the moment.
Wendy StienenΒ I guess it's either a user who is developing their own thing, a third party developing a solution, or this is the company WPMN are working with to develop an app.

Is this genuine?!
Paul HopkinsΒ don't know. Maybe it is a app someone else made? Not from WPmanageninja?
Wendy StienenΒ I think it could be what they be said they are looking into. It seems genuine to me.

Looks genuine here
No problem. Then I keep using the workaround.
- Open Safari on your iPhone.
- Go to the website you want to save (for members your dashboard page)
- Tap the Share icon (the square with the arrow pointing up).
- Scroll down and tap βAdd to Home Screen.β
- Enter a name if you want.
- Tap Add.
Now youβll see an icon on your home screen, just like a regular app!
When you tap it, the website opens directly, without the address bar.
This only works with Safari!
Wendy StienenΒ that only works if youβve installed a PWA plugin? Unless Iβm missing something!!
Paul HopkinsΒ not a plugin. You just search in safari for your dashboard link. Thats it.
Coming soon ...from developer - https://lazycoders.co/
Given this on their website, my guess is they are the ones developing the official app.
Thomas OatesΒ Good find. Exciting times!
Thomas OatesΒ right on!
Why not responding to requests then? I personally bought Fluent Community because they had told that an app was coming soon. But now, it seems like they avoid talking about it. I hope I'm wrong.
Fabio PinnaΒ I would say itβs not ready for release yet and to announce details would raise expectations of it being out tomorrow. I would rather it was stable enough before release. IMO
Paul HopkinsΒ I agree with you. This must be the main reason.
Fabio PinnaΒ don't worry, everything this company takes on is gold. And honestly, there are no other community solutions out there this good. I've used Circle, BubbyBoss and Mighty Networks.
Having been an app developer, here's my take. They've put an app on the app store to get that part rolling forward but the QR code is likely for invitation-only users.
There's one huge gigantic humoungous difference between a website acting like an app (see above) and a real app and that's NOTIFICATIONS. With a community app like Circle.so, I constantly get notifications on my phone that help me keep in touch with a development community I depend on, and FC has issues with using emails as the notification pathway.
In FC with just email there are limitations, such as if you message someone in FC they will not get an email that someone messaged them. And it's hard to @mention someone from a space if they haven't already joined that space. It's challenging to say hi to someone who just joined, they won't know people are trying to reach them. (I could be wrong). But app notifications is something everyone understands and knows how to manage.

Daniel ProctorΒ well, we need to be sure of its quality before purchasing anything.
