May I recommend Pie Calendar as a BRILLIANT and super lightweight calendar plugin. It turns any CPT into an event, and you can show it on the calendar. Lots of flexibilty to customize as a dev. Integrates with Woocommerce for ticket capability.
The only real FCommunity integration would be to allow users to RSVP to the events and have a list of attendees, and set that list to be public/private - which should be pretty easy, since I believe FC runs on the default WP user profile? Or have you guys created another CPT for that like Buddypress did??
