Enhanced access rules (visibility)
I host a small community, for which it is essential that it can be publicly viewed. However, I would like to monetize it. That is currently not possible, but access is either Public or restricted, meaning that I cannot monetize unless I hide it from potential subscribers.
What I would like to see is this:
- Read-only public access
- Restrictions on comments or creating/editing posts.
Example: Anyone can read what is going on, but if you want to participate, you have to log in/purchase a subscription. For example: a job board could be a single space. It is essential that anyone can view the offerings, but you cannot create an offering yourself, unless you become a member.
#readonly #access #visibility #membership #monetize
I think this is standard buid in allready. A public community, when you are not logged in, you can read but not participate
Natascha VantuykomΒ No, you cannot monetize unless you switch a group to Private. That blocks the content. All the documentation points to this.
Unless, of course, I totally misinterpreted that?
Karsten RisseeuwΒ I'm toying with some ideas because I don't have FC in front of me right now. Can you do something with the Access Management settings for a discussion space that requires an Automation in FCRM to set a tag for access? That would give you a place to divert the visitor to pay for access to get the tag.
William BeemΒ Restricting access while maintaining public visibility is the issue to tackle for me. You made a conceptually good suggestion. I will check if that is possible.
Karsten RisseeuwΒ That would be the automation you can trigger after the payment.
Maybe hide the join button and use a widget in the sidebar to trigger the purchase?
J VΒ Thank you, I will consider this, but must look into it. To have this as a feature in settings would be preferred.
Karsten RisseeuwΒ As this may be something most don't need it may never happen. Check out this place:
