Easily create your iPhone, iPad, and Android application for Fluent Community

Hello everyone

Many users want to design their iPhone and Android apps for their Fluent Community. This is a highly discussed topic right now. You may have seen a few comments from me in these discussions. Some of you also know me for helping the community by contributing to special addons.

I am Dragan STAMENKOVIC, and for the past 12 years, I have been developing mobile applications for my clients. I know the field very, very well. Before that, I built applications using hard development, and since then, I've used No-Code through my SAAS solution called Maymoune Apps. It's focused on non-developers, and any user without technical skills can use it.

I am also a very long-time user of Buddyboss Web and Buddyboss App. Believe me, I suffered before discovering Fluent Community from the very first days, which I now systematically recommend to all my clients.

I would also like to thank the entire WP Manage Ninja team for their amazing job and their general openness. I have been working with their products for 5 years.

I come to you today to share a new service, which is an adaptation of Maymoune Apps for Fluent Community. It's a new service that makes it easy to create an iPhone, iPad, and Android app for your community, your website, or both. I have focused everything on simplicity, fluidity, compatibility, personalization, and interaction through push notifications.

I pay close attention to the quality of the applications, which is why, in addition to the software, I also provide a strong service component that extends to the publication of the apps. After the client has designed their app (I help them with that too), they don't have to do anything else. I take care of everything else for them.

The purpose of this post is not to spam the group or to create disguised advertising. View this more as an initiative to offer mutual aid, even if there is obviously a product behind it. I prefer to be transparent.

Creating a mobile application is not easy, especially with a formidable plugin like Fluent Community. I humbly offer my contribution to the effort. And if you have questions about this ecosystem, I will gladly share. There are so many topics users are unaware of, such as ASO, what you can and can't do with an app, monetization possibilities, marketing, etc. I will be happy to answer them.

I wish the best to all existing and future solutions (there will be, I'm sure). As long as the community grows, helps each other, and continues to improve the Fluent Community ecosystem, that's the best thing we can do.

See you soon

Looks great. Will it work seamlessly with regular WordPress pages using the FluentCommunity page templates?

Dragan STAMENKOVIC

Thomas OatesΒ Absolutely. This is the case with any page builder or page template πŸ˜€

Good news today 😁 Google just released the Android app. I updated the post with the link. Here it is: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.maymoune.boudala

You can have the same app in full white label for your community πŸ’ͺ

Dragan STAMENKOVIC

Mike MΒ It's strange that you came across the old version πŸ˜… I will check the problem with Google. Thanks you for your feedback

Edit : I make update last night. It was indeed an old version. You can download the update and you will have the correct version.

Dragan STAMENKOVICΒ Nice! three questions...

  1. Have you got this app example for Apple too?
  2. I see the app is in a different language so how would one view it in English?
  3. If my FluentCommunity site is setup in a certain way i.e public, private, subscription, landing pages, theme wrap, then how would this display on the app?

Dragan STAMENKOVIC

Morgan McArthurΒ
The link is in the post. Here it is: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/boudala-business/id1607662128

2 - The app is in French because my community is French. It's simply the description on the store that I translated. Obviously, if I translate my Fluent Community, it will be available in the app. The multilingual feature works very well.

3 - The app exactly mirrors your Fluent Community configuration as well as the organization of your external pages, such as sales funnels or simply WordPress pages. You can customize everything, from the home page to the menus and the design.

Morgan McArthur

Dragan STAMENKOVICΒ thank you!

Another question I have for you on the multilingual side of things for your app with Fluent Community, and that is how can your app work with multilingual? what are the options?

I am not referring to translating the community to one local language by default like FluentCommunity currently has using local translate.

I am referring to more like a language option feature to select from the menu for example then everything switches to that language.

Such a language option feature would work great across the site for all content like courses, menus etc. Currently I rely on the members browser default language settings to auto translate.

The only thing is with the community aspect if a person from one language would like to read the comment of a person from another language like what YouTube and Facebook has, is there something like this for the app?

Dragan STAMENKOVIC

Morgan McArthurΒ You can translate the application's menus either manually or with a translation plugin. You can add as many languages as you want.
When the user clicks on the desired language, all menus will be translated. As for content that will be displayed, such as Fluent Community or other pages on the site, they will also need to be translated. This is external to the application. I hope I've answered your question.

Morgan McArthur

Dragan STAMENKOVICΒ So with Fluent Community sites wordpress translation plugins don't work due to the way Fluent Community is designed as a side loading plugin i.e the wordpress TranslatePress plugin does not work with FluentCommunity, hence me asking is there a work around for the app environment?

Dragan STAMENKOVIC

Morgan McArthurΒ The only way to have a complete translation of the content is to have different URLs for each menu or page of the site.

ex FR : mysite.com/demopage-fr.html

ex EN : mysite.com/demopage-en.html

The application doesn't translate the content. But if you tell the application where to go, it will display the translation if it's available.

For Fluent Community, I don't have any translation requests, but if there's a possibility to translate it with a different URL, then the plugin translation will be available.

Morgan McArthur

Dragan STAMENKOVICΒ ok thanks for the clarification! I do like what you have created here with your app for Fluent Community πŸ˜‰

Dragan STAMENKOVIC

Morgan McArthurΒ You're welcome πŸ™ You can have the exact same thing and even better if your site has a lot of options.

Morgan McArthur

Dragan STAMENKOVICΒ Another question came to mind regarding the app. Apps have the ability to have the option to download content to access via the app offline. Is such an option available through your service for FluentCommunity courses?

Dragan STAMENKOVIC

Morgan McArthurΒ There is no offline mode. However, you will get an alert when you launch if you don't have a network.

Morgan McArthur

Dragan STAMENKOVICΒ thanks for the clarification on the offline mode. I did not get you though on the notification and launch and having no network part though πŸ€”

Dragan STAMENKOVIC

Morgan McArthurΒ With pleasure. If you need any further information, please do not hesitate to ask. I will be happy to help you.
