Dollar signs in Ninja Charts

Hello, first time here ... I am trying to figure out how to display dollar signs on a Ninja Charts chart. If I have a $ in a numeric value column, the chart does not display the column at all. I tried using the $ code in an HTML column, but then the plugin doesn't recognize the column. What am I missing here?
