Creating a post from a reply in a comment thread

What if the community likes the comment and it gets a bunch of replies? Does it make sense to add a feature that allows the administrator/moderator to make such a comment a full-fledged "linked" post? I often use hypothesis and counter-hypothesis analysis, and sometimes counter-counter hypotheses arise from counter-hypotheses, just as new relevant topics can arise in the community.
