Why are there plugins like this… isn’t FluentCommunity working on making it part of the core system? Shahjahan Jewel ?
Miranda Rosengren because many don't need this. WPMN needs to focus on core functionality so plugin developers like WiLson Eberechi and I can build the specialized functionality that not everyone needs. I, for one, don't want Fluent to include this. FluentCommunity, FluentCart, and FluentCRM can't be everything to everyone, nor should it try to be. The only remaining question is everyone's opinion about what constitutes core functionality. Course certs are not, IMHO. This is a great add-on for those offering courses. I don't offer courses.
Miranda Rosengren because WPManageNinja cannot make all features.
They are over 10,000 members here with their feature requests, do you think WPManageNinja can accept all features, they will focus on core features.
Buddy boss, WooCommerce, etc all have external developers creating add-ons for users using those too.
Jeff Mapes you said it all
WiLson Eberechi I replied at the top. Sorry 😉
Jeff Mapes I replied at the top. Sorry 😉
Ok. I understand. I'm just a little disappointed that FluentCommunity isn’t making that the certification. I will probably buy it, but later this year. I have followed Fluent Family for a long time and have almost all the lifetime deals, just for myself and maybe for some work later on.
Everything moved much faster before with their development on important improvements. Now they say it will take 6 months, but still, 3 years later, it hasn’t happened. Then some big updates come. I don’t have the same trust right now.
But I still like a lot of Fluent products, especially fluent froms, FluentCRM. The others I haven’t really used because I’ve been waiting for what I thought were key updates to come.
Miranda Rosengren honestly, I love fluent ecosystem a lot.
Don't feel disappointed, fluent community is just 2 years old, and they have released over 10 updates in such a short time.
Buddy boss, WooCommerce and others are at least 10 years older than fluent community.
With time things will click. And if you can't wait, you hire an external developer to create custom add-ons of your request.
I have created custom add-ons for lots of members here, aside from my customers buying my addon, I have created custom add-ons for members.
Fluent community is the future.
WiLson Eberechi Thanks for explaining. I maybe should look more at the add-ons for the features I'm missing or thought would be developed.
Miranda Rosengren I will agree that it's disappointing that we don't have better communication from WPMN in the form of well maintained roadmaps with feature requests. People like me look at the ignored or even better, the answered feature requests saying "this is not a feature we intend to develop" to determine what to build.
Jeff Mapes Yes, I totally agree. You really have no idea what’s on the roadmap or what they’re prioritising, even if you ask support. The only answers I’ve gotten have been things like, “Yeah, in six months,” but it’s still not there and that was about two years ago, I think. I still like the plugins, but my trust in them used to be stronger.
Miranda Rosengren you can see here, that I have personally been affected by having to remove a plugin I spent 100 hours developing, because I had no idea what was coming.
Jeff Mapes I feel you. Yes. It would be better for everyone if the roadmaps included clearer short- and long-term planning, plus a checklist of what will not be prioritized.
Hello, I hope you’re well.
I’m Shani’s mum, and I’m now actively using the Fluent stack across my 5 platforms. I just want to say first, I really like what you’ve built. It’s clean, powerful, and has huge potential, especially for what we’re creating with our institute.
I’m looking to purchase for my five core websites, but before I do, I wanted to ask about one feature that would make this absolutely perfect for us.
Right now, you offer certificates, which is great. What would take this to the next level is adding an emblem or badge with a transparent background feature alongside certificates. Also with an option to upload our own design/shape.
The idea is simple:
As students complete groups of courses, they move through tiers such as Silver, Gold, and Platinum (we’ve already structured this inside Fluent Community using spaces). At each level, they would receive an emblem that includes:
- Their name
- Their status (tier level)
- A unique verification code
This would link back to a verifier, just as certificates do.
The key difference is:
These emblems should be PNG or JPG files so students can easily use them on social media to showcase their achievements. This is a major way people promote themselves now, and it would significantly increase engagement and visibility for both students and your platform.
Also, if certificates were available not just as PDFs but also as PNGs/JPGs, that would add a lot more flexibility.
Honestly, this one addition would set your platform apart from everything else. It’s exactly the kind of feature modern education platforms need.
One small issue I ran into:
When I tried to purchase, the checkout page wasn’t showing in English, so I’m not fully confident I’m entering my details correctly.
Also, I’m actually looking to purchase for five platforms. Do you offer any bundle or discounted pricing for multiple sites like this, as other stacks often do? I would ideally be looking for a lifetime option if that’s something you can provide.
If you can review the feature request and resolve the checkout issue, I’d be ready to move forward quickly.
Thank you again. I can see the potential here, and I’d really love to build with your system.
Nita McEvoy oh yeah, shani wrote me about it, especially the space group certificate, which I am working on as we speak.
What you requested for, would be added, I work with what customer's request.
There were features I added earlier which I later removed because customer's told me they don't need it, example: the QR code and certificate ID.
As for the checkout in English, I'll set up translator for Fluentcart.
The badge you speak of adding, you can add your badge at the spot where seal is added. The rest I'll handle in next update.
Hi Wilson,
This is helpful, thank you.
I want to take this a step further so we build this properly from the start.
For the emblems:
I will be creating multiple shapes, not just circular. For example:
• Circle (like the one I sent)
• Triangle version
• Possibly shield style
All emblems need:
• Transparent background (PNG format) so they can be used on websites and social media
• Student name and unique ID included
• Clean, high-resolution output suitable for branding
These are not just visual badges, they represent authorised practitioner status, so they need to look professional across all platforms.
One important question:
Do you currently have, or can you build, a verification system?
For example:
• A link or page where someone can enter the certificate/emblem ID
• Or scan a QR code
• And confirm the practitioner is valid
This part is very important for us, as we want public verification, not just downloads.
Thank you again, I really like where this is going.
Nita
Please see attached:
Nita McEvoy Oh I see, definitely achievable, will work on the shapes.
When the course certificate plugin is installed, it automatically generate a link yourdomain.com/course.php this is where you find students who earned certificates. Click this link to see sample https://mpaddi.com/course.php
I added QR code and unique ID and later removed it last year, customer's told me it was unnecessary since instructors and students can check the legitimate of certificate via the link.
For the transparent background, can I see a sample of how it looks, how you want it to look?
Hi Wilson,
Thank you, this is helpful.
Just to clarify the transparent background, I don’t mean the design itself should be see-through.
I mean the file should be cut to the shape of the emblem, with no square or rectangular background around it.
For example:
• If it’s a circle, only the circle is visible
• If it’s a triangle, only the triangle is visible
• Everything outside the shape is fully transparent
This is important so when users upload it to websites or social media, there is no visible box around the emblem.
So the output needs to be:
• PNG format
• Transparent outside the shape
• Clean edges, high resolution
On the verification side:
I understand the course.php page, but this is more of a list rather than a true verification system.
What I would ideally need is:
• A way to enter an ID or scan a QR code
• And confirm that the practitioner is valid
This is important because these emblems represent authorised status, so they need to be verifiable publicly, not just visible in a list.
Let me know if this is something you can build or adapt.
Thank you again, I appreciate you working through this with me.
Nita
Nita McEvoy yeah it's achievable, I already have the codes for unique ID from last year project I removed, I'll just add it back.
Like I said, I work with customer's request.
And now I understand what you mean by transparency, you're talking about PNG format(image), 100% achievable.
When I'm done, you'll test before purchase.
I already have a demo site: https://coursedemo.mpaddi.com/portal
There's tutorial video there as well.
Thank you will check out later today, I hope you found my input helpful and you must absolutely shout about it when you have implemented it, thank you :)
Nita McEvoy Lol I enjoy writing codes, I love writing codes, that's when I come alive.
I've already finished 80% of space group certificate which shani told me earlier. And I love it already.
Hello, Everything is read now? WiLson Eberechi I want to purchase lifetime but I dont need 50 sites, any better payment options please?
