Cloudflare R2 Course Storage
Hi, is there a way to store course video content in Cloudflare R2 through uploading in FluentCommunity? I have tried uploading the files to R2 directly but it won't accept video files over 300MB.
1TB on R2 would cost less than $20/mo and be easier to manage than Vimeo Pro.
Would love to know too. But i do know you can SFTP into R2 and potentially upload there.

Check out Bunny.net pricing for their Stream service. That's what I'm using.

However, for streaming video you should use a streaming service to provide the video in the right format for any user without affecting your server load.
I just started experimenting with Mux.com and will be leaving Vimeo Pro for them. (Looked into Bunny Stream but Mux works better for my use case.)
If you put a credit card in, you basically get $20 worth of usage for free every month (and then pay for any billing over that) or for $10 per month you get $100 worth of usage for free plus normal rates past that.
Blaine Moore I looked into Mux but could not figure out a simple way to restrict view playback to a single domain. They have a signing method but it isn't simple for a larger library of videos. Are you just leaving your videos public?
Jerad Hill If you use the WordPress plugin to upload it's relatively easy, but yeah, I am generally just leaving the videos as public right now while I'm testing things.
Once I'm ready to start migrating to the new site, I might setup an automation of some sort or create my own plugin for uploading to automatically set private and domain limited videos.
At the moment, I'm just uploading through their web interface.
Blaine Moore The included AI Captioning is a nice benefit. Might have to give it a try.
Jerad Hill Yeah, I use Descript so don't need that, but when I upload my backlog of old trainings from before I started using Descript, I'll probably have it generate those for me automatically for those ones. (I've got everything transcribed for the last 5 or 6 years, but have 12 or 13 years of content at this point.)
Jerad Hill If you have a Mac, a program called MacWhisper is outstanding for creating captions. Just open your audio/video file and choose which model you want to do your transcription. The Parakeet model is blazing fast and you can do it locally. The author updates it frequently.
I use cloudflare streaming and love it. I can lock it down to domains, it’s fast and cheap.
