Can FC accommodate 5000+ concurrent user especially on lessons?
Hi Shahjahan Jewel, just wondering, can FC accommodate 5000 concurrent users and maybe 1M users in general? Assuming all of them are learning at the same time.
Just curiousΒ
FC itself will handle it, it more depend of the hosting you have the FC installed on
Jakub NormanΒ great, usually the first question is would it handle, sometimes, hosting may not help.
So what server requirements would you recommend for such a case?
I saw a post from WP Ninja that they are testing on 100,000 concurrent users. But as Jakub said, it all depends on your server, I will add here that if you are not DevOps or if you have no practical experience in running and optimizing high load servers with 5000 concurrent users, slowdowns and bugs and problems are likely to occur.
Ideally, before you install FluentCommunity and start the server, you should build a plan that lays out a roadmap of your project's startup and goals. I would recommend that you identify a reliable hosting provider now, choose a VDS or dedicated server with sufficient CPU, RAM and NVMe (for 5000 more like 12 CPU, 24 RAM) and make sure the network bandwidth is at least 1gbps.
The most difficult, but guaranteeing success, is to manually install the OS and other environment of your server even before installing WordPress and Fluent plugins. Most likely this will be automatically installed, but even in this situation you should ask your hosting provider to install an OpenLiteSpeed or Nginx web server for you. Already after starting WordPress you will need to configure static caching and Redis for object caching.
The quality aspects of your server are highly dependent on many factors, not just FluentCommunity.
p.s. if the server and site are not the best optimized, you may need 16 CPUs, 64 RAM, fast NVMe and 2 gbps channel for 5000 users. So either finger in the sky for more money or hire DevOps or a good network administratorat least at the initial stage, if you have a commercial project it will be justified.
p.s.s.
However, in my experience in terms of performance FluentCommunity is more welcoming than BuddyPress counterpart, BuddyBoss. So you can feel free to try it.
Artur AbakarovΒ i couldn't replied better :)
Jakub Norman thank you)) in truth this topic is so voluminous that I was only able to cover the essence of the question
Artur AbakarovΒ thank you, these are some of things I believe that we should surely put so much into consideration as we roll out a community
