Calendar in the fluent community
Is there an option to add a calendar, similar to Skool, for the group's events?
There isn't a calendar in FC at the moment but Ross FCA is working on an events plugin. See https://fluentcommunityaddons.com/events-for-fluent-community/ for more info.
Ross FCA your events calendar appears to tick most of our needs.
We currently use The Events Calendar with a third party ticketing plugin for Registrations and waitlist. We make our calendar public with an overview of the events (title, date, excerpt) but the single event page with full details and ticketing is only available to members. The public calendar overview is important to persuade people to become members. Do you support this?
Coffs Trails The access controls I'm working on just now allow for different settings for viewing the event and registering for the event - so in your scenario you would see the event on the calendar, be able to see the full event page, but only register for the event if you're a member. Having it show on the calendar and not be accessible is possible but not implemented just now.

I created my own "events" (and others) CPT's and am using the PieCalendar plugin and it's working really well. Not a full featured events management plugin but I really just needed to have the calendar portion on a page for a few clients because I can handle everything else (relatively) easily with Fluent Forms and Fluent CRM. Although I am looking forward to Fluent Cart to make paid events easier to purchase multiple at a time (instead of having to go through the form checkout process for each event).

Wendy Shoef I am trying to use Pie Calendar in my FC. Do you have it on a standalone page or on a page using the Fluent Community template that makes the page look "inside" your community? I keep getting an error saying that the shortcode isn't supported when trying to embed the shortcode on a page using the FC Template.

I've created my own calendar integrated directly with The Events Calendar. I just built a snippet with the code, and it features categories, multiple views, and a responsive design similar to the Skool interface.
