BetterMode vs FluentCommunity

I'm the woman for you! I had considered Bettermode, implemented it, and tested it for weeks.

Here’s my brief assessment:

FluentCommunity 👍

Bettermode has a terrible comment management system: if there are nested comments, you have to open each one individually. Even if there are 20, 50, or 100! It’s awful.

It also has a more complex system for managing tags, topics, etc., which is somewhat more flexible and definitely more powerful as it’s currently developed (but we’re talking about WordPress with FC, so the development potential is practically limitless). For instance, you can see the management of two different types of filters in the attached screenshots.

For example, in the case of "Concorsi Letterari," I can filter them by ongoing and expired, and it updates automatically with the calendar ( Shahjahan Jewel please implement this wonderful feature 🥲). Additionally, I created a complex filter composed of multiple criteria that users can select to refine their search.

It’s also quite customizable in terms of visuals and templates.

However, it lacks a lot in user moderation features, which is also true for FC. But I’m confident that FC is very young, so it has plenty of time to grow, whereas Bettermode has been around for years and hasn’t developed much.

To be honest: if Bettermode didn’t have that issue with comments, I probably wouldn’t have purchased FluentCommunity.

That said, I’m really happy to have FC because I’ve been looking for a WordPress-based solution for YEARS. I also hope to bother the development team enough to influence new features 😂

(Anyway, if someone’s interested, I have a lifetime Bettermode Business license with several add-ons that currently cost a lot but are completely free. I’m selling it because I no longer need it—feel free to reach out if interested.)

Linda Rando I see BetterMode already has Analytics, Also direct integration with Roadmap is quite nice. But currently FluentCommunity is not available.

The beauty of BetterMode is:

• The customization level for design and creating spaces with different layouts and specifications.
• Also i like the direct message feature.
• The cons are some paid extensions are too expensive 🤦‍♂️
