API (REST or code)

We have written an app for IOS/Android that wraps our website, using the Wordpress REST API and a bit of custom API code.

We would really like to make our Fluent Community available for app users as well, is the current API strong enough to give a solid user experience, and is there a REST interface as well, or would we need to write that ourselves?
