I just completed the documents and Files Library feature on our dev branch. This will be a very useful feature. You can upload files and documents and only the space members can download those files. We also added a feature where you can give members access to upload files.
We are a bit slow this week as our full dev team is now in Thailand 🏝️ for our annual retreat (I skipped the tour personally)!
- What do you think about this feature?
- What else thing we should add to this module?
- What will be your use case?
- We will also have a documents library for Course Lessons.

Our use case: We use FluentCommunity to manage our teams and store internal meeting notes and updates. Now, our design and marketing team can upload documents and share with corresponding team members and it will be the library with historical files that will be searchable and our team members can easily find the files.

This is great! I sell courses and these courses have worksheets, ebooks or templates that the students can download. So this is very useful.
it will be very good if we can write some description to files so members can know what it is about

Ramsis Kasis Currently, this file module is attached with the current remote storage module. For video, we may use a separate driver like bunny. So in that case, you can use both.

In my case I would like to be like buddyboss idea , the members can share there files in posts then direct will be saved in the documents for space which sheared inside it and also in deep will be saved by topics to filters later.so, the files will be organized well and good to build big documents library . In additional, for advanced future add the name author (who uploaded files) in each file.

It would be great to a share link to a file from the document library with temporary access link (url with a temp and unique token) so we could share it with a Space/Course users (default) or a specific fCommunity person/people/externaly (Public) or with specific email (potential client/suspect/prospect) for specific period aka Admin can configure the file link expiration date aka the time the temp/unique link is valid/expired (one-time or x-times access download document with a promo code by max x times), expiration after x hours, days, months or never - default)
Note: once the temp link is expired the user could be redirected to a custom url or a origin Space url (for Paid membership the user could see the paid Membership link to buy the Space access)
+Admin could specify a default or a custom set of icon for file extension
Mat links for documents should be a default must
Is it possible to make play list with mp3 file.
For ex. Module 1 - 3 mp3 file. Modul 2 - 5 mp3 file?

Morgan McArthur Not in the next update. We have a plan to add a rich-media player for the LMS module as well as in the discussion module. But that is scheduled for next quarter.
Shahjahan Jewel oki doki thanks Shahjahan Jewel . So to clarify as the FluentCommunity LMS stands... one can embed video and text into a lesson. An audio player from WordPress should work. Would be a little odd if there is no support for WP native shortcodes.
The feature I am waiting for. Going to be using it with a non-profit group with members. They will be able to access their meeting minutes, agendas etc. for all the boards - hopefully.

Great! Can't see it mentioned but GDrive integration for Google Docs/Sheets etc would personally be so much handier I think and saves on server space. Has that been considered yet? Well done!
Daniel Herrera to save your server we have added Amazon S3 and cloudflare R2 from the very first. I would not recommend Google drive to store these type of files.

Shahjahan Jewel it seems to be nice. But I feel like the focus should be on getting the basics right first. I miss a lot of moderation features both for moderators and for user-helped-moderation, navigation for large topics like discourse/nodebb/etc, more granular permissions and restrictions for users / user roles. etcetera etcetera :)
I need a way to monetize this. Only paid members can upload files. Will this be possible via FluentCRM?
Aaron Liang ⭐ woocommerce and fluent cram can make it so once a user activates a membership then you can add them to the space. Potentially start there and move forward.
Yeah, this is precisely what we need. We are starting a paid community, and one of the core values of the membership is an online searchable library of templates, how-to guides, and other documentation related to the community. It will be .docs and .pdf to start with, but I intend to expand it to any media that adds value to the community. Thanks for this.

This is brilliant...this feature can be used in multiple outcomes..., and many ideas are rushing in my head for my community platform.
Would it be possible to assign a document to a specific user, if i have a class and i want to return a marked document to a student or if i want to give access to confidential document to a customer this would be very handy.
Shaun Smith-Roberts No. It's a space-based document library. We will add lesson based documents as well.

It would super if Admin could "Request Upload a File" from users to a dedicated folder (per space/per course) where users could upload files but they would not see other users files only their files.
Admin could share a link to a dedicated folder which could be valid for the next x days (set the expiration date).
Example: a new client or a Marketing team wants to share project files and share with the Admin only their files and nobody else from the Space/Course (other then file owner + Admin) could access or see those files but it would be kept in the Space/Course repository/folder.
Mat That's a project management scope or customer portal scope.
Shahjahan Jewel I don't know yet but if a client has a community with neighbours and they want to share some files with the Admin/MODS then it could be handy feature. There is no problem to ask for such a upload via Direct Message (Chat) but I am not sure how they to keep all files in a dedicated folder etc. This is a suggestions not a must have feature.

My use case:
- Templates library - I have a nice starter template library for my students /general access to all available
- Space specific file library
- Course specific library
We would need thumbnails for graphical items and sorting to give items an order if something is updated over time. list or grid view would be a great bonus.
