Alerts - Push Notifications

Scenario: We have a feed for emergency weather alerts on our community. We have our site wrapped as an app (AppMySite or other build)

Desired result: When a new post is made the user will get a push notification on their device.
Can this be done?

(Would also be really useful to have a way to implement text based notifications) These are very critical to our use case.

I don't think there is a built-in way to do this (yet?) but you could probably do it with one of the WordPress automation plugins (FlowMattic, etc.) that supports FluentCommunity.

Thomas OatesΒ So I wonder if you have your site wrapped as an app, if there would be a way to implement push notification from the app itself

Thomas Oates

Roger BunchΒ Just guessing since I've never done it but I suspect you could do it with one of the automation tools. I think most of the mobile app wrapper services have options for sending notifications that could probably be triggered by FlowMattic (or other automation apps) that would get activated by actions done in FluentCommunity.

I am interested in this. We want to make an APP for 2 communities + push notifications. For us the push notifications are the most important, we lack engagement now. Does someone have any idea how to implement this? Also is there any update on the 3th party company that was working on the native app?

hello, if anyone is interested in a solution/workaround, I shared my code snippet here:
