Add user/buyer information in the footer of PDF documents to discourage unauthorized sharing of copyrighted materials.
As the title suggests, we intend to make our e-books available for download to specific groups and courses. Having this kind of feature would be very helpful for us and many content creators out there.

Please share a dummy .pdf with a watermark so maybe I can check how fast it can be removed
I just tested It and was actually really easy to remove it with adobe illustrator. Probably would be equally easy on other softwares. but just by having it already helps me because the average consumer won't bother doing this. If there is a secure way to protect the file would be incredible.

marcelo angelim yes it is very easy to remove it or find a free online tool in google.com or ask ChatGPT, not mentioning that you can open .pdf in even in Word and sometimes remove some objects/elements.
The easiest way is to CTRL+A and CTRL+C and CTRL+V to steal a text or use any OCR feature (even in m365 apps) to copy the content.
So sometimes it is not worth it to spend too much time on a content protection but of course always we can try...
Mat this feature helped before when a user shared a file in https://www.scribd.com and because of this our team was able to locate the buyer and ask him to remove it.
marcelo angelim if possible you can also add metadata to your .pdf so they are not visible at a first sight but you can extract them once downloaded (if the are not being wipe out of course)
