Hello, Everyone!
I bought FluentCommunity in late December. I was so inspired with my experience that I upgraded to the 50-site deal.
Also, I think this community space we are interacting in right here is a fine example of how well FluentCommunity can work.
I wish you all success with your projects.
Not sure if I said "hi" when I first joined.
Hi π
50 sites. Are you offering this as a service? I'm curious about doing something like that, but I'm also trying to figure out a market for that service. I'd love to know what you have in mind.
William Beem, nice to meet you. Yes, I would like to offer this as a service. Let's see if I figure out the market. I enjoyed setting up my first community site very much, and found the process approachable, and I know FluentCommunity will only get better. I will send you a DM.
Hi William BeemΒ and @danryanneffreads. I got the 50 site deal bc in theory I want to be able to create little communities and pass them out like candy. π I absolutely love Mighty Networks but I can't justify it in many cases. Here's a fun case-in-point...
One of my best friends just got married in San Miguel de Allende in Mexico. He just got his professional wedding pictures back and I offered to create a website for them. INSTEAD, I'm creating a single web page that's the login to a private community of all the wedding attendees and the folks who couldn't make it.
The thing is, EVERYONE at the wedding also took tons of pictures and videos as well (using bunny.net as a backend so they can upload long videos). So, I'm creating a little community for everyone to upload and share our pictures AND chat with each other.
I'll create spaces where they can talk about their experiences, be able to connect with each other and have private chats and deepen their connections.
And then the wedding couple and I will take all their photos and vides and assemble them into private web pages with carousels n stuff.
By also installing free FluentCRM I can send out group emails, first to invite everyone to participate, and then invite them back when all the dust has settled for the big multimedia show.
The important part here is that this is a way for the experience to continue and aquaintances and friendships to deepen (It was a very memorable experience).
And when all the activity dies down, there's a super low cost to keep it all sitting there for a few years not doing much of anything. Using outside resources like ConvertKit, Mighty Networks or Circle.so, a CRM module, etc would be prohibitively expensive with a continuous subscription.
This is why I got the 50 pack. This seems to open new possibilities of tightly coupling a community with a website at a very low cost, otherwise, we wouldn't do it.
Pretty exciting times.
Mark Halvorson, your current and future projects sound very cool. What a nice thing to do for your circle of friends. There are indeed so many possibilities and the current price is excellent.Β
Mark HalvorsonΒ That's an interesting concept. I have a lot of fellow photographer friends who do weddings. What would you charge for the service?
William BeemΒ ha ha that could be a whole side business huh!! My dance card is currently overloaded for the rest of my life so I canβt take on one more project!! But if I did, I donβt know how much that would be worth. Very interesting to consider.
Mark HalvorsonΒ I'm giving it some serious thought today. I can imagine selling it as a white-label service to wedding planners. They offer the service to clients for a fee. I create a site as a subdomain on the wedding planner's domain. Then we have Groups with spaces for each wedding party.
Planning, Bachelor Party, Bachelorette Party, Share Your Photos, etc.
In addition, I could add a FluentBoards option for planning and assignments. I let the wedding planner manage things inside, and I keep the service running and supported for them.
That way there is more to the offer than you get with other SaaS services and it's customized for the client.
What else would you add?
William BeemΒ The idea is good, do you think the same Facebook would not be a competitor as more accessible in this case? Imagine that you are one of the 100 invited to the wedding, a week or two after the celebration you switch from celebrations to something else, site visits will fall to 5-10 people. (B2C scenario seems complicated)
But you can offer the same wedding agencies or other businesses their own community, then a higher price tag is possible and business owners will have an incentive to grow. (B2B scenario)
Artur AbakarovΒ Facebook doesn't offer a project board or a white label service.
Also, Facebook compresses the snot out of uploads.
So many possibilities with FluentCommunity! Great to see this discussion, everyone.
