FluentAuth vs Wordfence

Wordfence offers much more than FluentAuth, e.g., a web-application firewall and micro-patches. FluentAuth is more comparable to the free Wordfence Login Security plugin. Neither plugin supports modern authentication methods like passkeys, but Wordfence Login Security at least supports classic authenticator apps (Google Authenticator, 2FAS, Ente Auth etc.). FluentAuth only supports two-factor authentication over email, which is the least secure method. On the other hand, FluentAuth offers social login and magic link login (Wordfence does not).
Keep in mind that FluentAuth isn’t a regular WPManageNinja plugin. Shahjahan Jewel calls it his “weekend project” which might affect its longevity.

Nicolas When it comes to authentication, Solid Security offers phishing resistant passkey login, which is missing in Wordfence. I’ve requested support for passkey login in Wordfence for years, but they obviously don’t prioritize modern authentication.

Nicolas Daxant We currently use Wordfence. Hopefully, the plugin called Two-Factor gets support for passkeys and is merged into WordPress core when the stable release is launched. We’ll switch to Two-Factor then. Until then, we’ll just keep using Wordfence’s two-factor authentication solution since we use Wordfence anyway. https://wordpress.org/plugins/two-factor/
