Testing image compression
I'm checking to see how much
file reduced from 588kb to 118kb
Another file compressed from 11.9 mb, to 56 kb.
The compression function works just fine.
Does anyone use additional plugins or services to compress pictures in the feed?
Seems to be a great result, file reduced from 588kb to 118kb
And this file weighed 11.9 mb, after downloading it weighed 53 kb.
Shahjahan JewelΒ what else do you use to compress images? You are doing better than me without any additional plugins.
Artur AbakarovΒ We don't use any other performance plugin. FluentCommunity handles the compression by itself. It's pretty good.
Shahjahan Jewel did some tests, you have 30-40% more efficient compression on your site, perhaps you are controlling this and there is a way on my side I could do this too? Can you test this?
Artur AbakarovΒ not actually. Please check if you have GD library installed or not. By the way, the only extra thing we have is CloudFlare R2 CDN for file delivery.
Shahjahan Jewel checked, GD library is enabled. Maybe CloudFlare R2 compresses media content the same way, or does it more efficiently than FC.
Artur AbakarovΒ We use the same plugin. No additional plugin except Fluent* plugins.
After that if you want you can handle compressing only by a plugin with your own settings, for me I disabled all compressing features for FC because I need highest quality for my community
Kevin Heinrichs and how do you combat memory fill on your server?
Artur AbakarovΒ server runs with 32 CPU cores + 128GB RAM + Cloudflare, never saw any issues
Kevin Heinrichs real power!
