Introducing aOS: Looking for Early Beta Feedback
I’m getting close to opening up early beta feedback (planning for July 13th) for aOS — AdminOS for WordPress. This has been a project that I've been working on over the past year now.
aOS is a new WordPress admin experience designed to make managing a site feel more like a modern app instead of the traditional WordPress dashboard. It brings key workflows like content, plugins, themes, updates, activity, notifications, client access, white labeling, and admin settings into a cleaner, more focused interface. aOS is not a theme or skin over the default WordPress dashboard, it’s a modern admin workspace built to streamline and rethink how WordPress management actually works.
This first beta round is not a public launch and not meant to be treated like a finished product. I’m looking for a small group of early testers who are willing to explore the direction, try real workflows, and give honest feedback on usability, clarity, bugs, rough edges, and what would make aOS more useful in day-to-day WordPress work.
Ideal testers are WordPress users, site owners, developers, agency owners, plugin/theme builders, or anyone who spends enough time in wp-admin to know where the friction is.
For this early round, I’m mainly looking for feedback on:
- Does the overall direction make sense?
- Does aOS feel useful compared to the normal WordPress admin?
- What feels confusing, unfinished, or unnecessary?
- What workflows would make this a must-have?
- Are there bugs, layout issues, or compatibility problems?
Again, this is beta feedback only. I’m not looking for polish reviews as if it is a finished commercial release yet. I’m looking for people who can help shape the product before it gets there.

I am actively using aOS on my own site for 90% of all wordpress admin activity and have been for about 3 weeks now.
Just for clarity, you won’t have to install this on a site. A demo site will be setup and you will be provided login information.
I am a little delayed in the beta testing as I had to make a few more changes/updates and I'm getting over a bad chest/sinus cold.
One of the neat things about aOS is that it has a "Demo Mode". This mode allows the SAA (Super aOS Admin) to enable it, invite testers, clients, etc to have a full preview of dashboard but not be able to actually save any changes... it's basically a read only interaction. It's this feature I had to make a few last minute tweaks to.
I'm hoping to have it ready this Friday/Saturday. This will also give me time to put together a few feature notes to help you as you go through everything.
Again, I'm looking for any volunteers. You WILL NOT HAVE TO INSTALL aOS on your site. You will be given a login with aOS Admin permissions for you to review aOS in that role and quickly change the role to others so you get a feel for what is currently accessible by various roles.
