Choosing a server
I now have a 4GB with 2 cpu's at Digital Ocean in Cloudways. it cost 46$ a month. I'm thinking whether to upgrade to a 60$ a month Vultr server, high frequency with 4GB Ram and 2 cpu's, at Cloudways, or a 50$ a month Vultr server, high frequency with 8GB Ram and 4 cpu's at 50$ a month at xCloud. Obviously, the xCloud server is cheaper and twice as powerful. But Cloudways offers Object Cache Pro free as part of it's plan.
What do you think would be better?
Mind you that I have a LearnDash website (also woocommerce and various Fluent products - fcrm, community, boards etc', and plugins such as uncanny automator).
There has no significant difference between Object Cache Pro and the Free. Itβs just a marketing gimmicks.
Shahjahan JewelΒ That's interesting!
I used to have a Vultr HF server with the same config as you over at Cloudways, and it cost me $60/month. The same server at xCloud.host costs me $30/month. I'm happier at xCloud. I run Redis on my xCloud host. As Jewel stated, the free version is all you need.
William BeemΒ Amazing. How are you satisfied with support with regards to Cloudways?
Assaf Manor I'm sorry for the late reply, as I just saw this. I think the support at xCloud is friendly and helpful. That said, they are not as fast to respond as some other hosts. WPX (shared hosting) prides itself on a response in 30 seconds, or something like that.
I run my site on WPMUDEV Bronze Max Server for $7.95 USD per month, 4GB of RAM, and 1 CPU. Right now, it is enough to test our community. I know my next step will be Silver and perhaps Gold if warranted.
Anyone else using WPMUDEV, some folks hate it! Well, I have 56 clients running on various flavours of servers with no issues.
