Sending cancellation or rescheduling emails to clients always

I would absolutely love if you could have the cancellations and rescheduling email notifications being sent to the clients, regardless if it's me or them that make the change.

As it is set up now they have to remember the new date and I have as a client or manager never come across another system that doesn't confirm the change to the client.

In the email settings for each event are toggles to send (or not) email notifications for cancellations and re-schedulings to you (organizer/host) and/or clients.

Unfortunately, there is no global way to do it--you have to do it for each event individually. On the plus side, you can tailor each event to say specifically what you want for a reschedule or cancellation.

I have 14 events so it's a bit tedious for me, and most of my emails like that are pretty much the same, so I would like to have a global setting that would automatically apply to every event--with the ability to then customize individual events as needed.

PaulΒ no, I can't send a cancellation (or reschedule) email to the client if the client has cancelled themselves. That's the behavior I want.

The team has confirmed that this is the case.

But I do agree that global email would be great, but it's another feature request

Jonas HΓΆglundΒ I'm probably not understanding your issue. Fluent Booking email settings for me control, with a toggle, whether an email gets sent or not for reschedules or cancellations. Sounds like that toggle is on for you and the emails still don't get sent.

PaulΒ yes. But if a client cancels via the link that you can send in the email, then they get no email confirmation. The same if they reschedule with the link provided by fluentBooking.

Imagine you reschedule an appointment online with your doctor and you only have your original appointment time on email. No confirmation with the new time - that is how the system is set up.

But now they have pointed me to a snippet that enables this (see other comment).

I've had several clients asking where their cancellation and rescheduling confirmation emails are.

Paul

Jonas HΓΆglundΒ Yes, I had that happen once and I thought it was a one off glitch but that explains why my client never got the confirm email, but I did! And in that case, my calendar did NOT update, it still had the original time only! I will check out the snippet too. Thanks for the more detailed explanation!

Got another one today that rescheduled:

Hello,

I booked Monday at 1:30 PM β€” or at least I thought I did. I haven’t received any confirmation email or anything.

Kind regards,

Here's the solution provided by a star at WPNinja https://github.com/rakidhasan93/WPManageNinja-Snippets/blob/main/fluent-booking/php-snippets/booking-cancellation-and-reschedule-email-to-attendee.php

Still think this is common sense default configuration.

Jonas HΓΆglundΒ I notice this code says it was written or uploaded 3 weeks ago - and you did say they pointed you to a snippet that I assume was already existing, so I assume this is the correct one? I'm adding it to my Fluent Snippets!

Jonas HΓΆglund

PaulΒ Yes, it works for me when I tested it.
