How to give affiliates access to additional videos, documents, guides for being successful in FA?

Hey Guys , is there some way or do you have some advice for how I can offer my affiliates some access to additional info such as videos, guides, documents, lessons or education on being a successful affiliate for my brand?

I only want my affiliates to see it.

I don't see anyway to add any more material to the affiliate dashboard.

I want to make videos and give them examples and materials to be better educated on my brand.

I know there are potentially numerous ways to go about it, but it seems you would have an idea or suggestion?

How to use FA itself to keep it all contained within that interface? I was considering using my Fluent Community. Maybe thats an option. But keeping it limited to Fluent Affiliate would be simple and ideal.

Please advise. thanks!

Maybe create a space for affiliates and auto add affiliates to that space...

Maybe you can consider:

A) A Secret Course + Space for affiliates with the fluent community feature of Docs enabled so as you can upload there all the elements.

B) A Landing page or tab inside the affiliate portal with the shortcode of the affiliate URL, the brand kit, and a custom button to a Drive with more info (this is actually, how multinational companies work. eg.: Here is the brand kit!

C) You may want to use both the Brand Kit using the creatives module of FA + an API connection with your preferred cloud system, so as to show an extra tab on the affiliate menu, with the files of the drive. Which will allow you to just put there like a couple of videos and folders with the info. Preview features here a quite cool. So if you upload something short you can both think of uploading a couple of videos, or simply use an embed video and just after that the inserted folders with all the info. Eg.: Welcome video + direct access to folders on preview with available navigation on the front end or direct URL to the folders.

I see mayor brands keeping this super simple. Even with huge affiliate and partner agreements. So, I will keep in mind to keep things simple and personal, and do not invest much "psychological space" on how this should look, and put the attention on the goal itself.

And focus on creating good relationships with your affiliates. Better a few that are top performers, that will appreciate personal attention and conditions that look more exclusive to them; than hundreds of curious people that love the UX.

Some experience here: I still remember a client database of partners with +86k affiliates. Where most of them were really low performers...

Again, Pareto: the 20% that will give you the 80% applies here too.

You know: Where focus goes...energy flows.

A fancy infrastructure or UX, would not give you commited affiliates or partners. But a false sense that you're actively working on your affiliate program (when, probably, focusing too much on the UX, site, and so).

I will suggest creating a small space, with top performers. And create a ranking of top sellers. This has worked incredibly well on affiliate programs. And if you're more partner oriented (something I usually like more). I will focus on creating an experience for them and explaining your main product plans and calendar :)

Hope it helps :)

Jorge de los ReyesΒ This is EXTREMELY thorough. THANK YOU for spending so much time, thought and energy on your reply to me.

I will do these things you advise i.e., a Space in FC and a Tab with a Brand Kit or link to drive with materials.

But please, allow me to ask a couple follow-up questions based on all the incredible value you provided me!

A) What do you mean by "Secret Course"... just a few guides/videos in the Space itself? seems straightforward.

B)Β How do I set up a "Landing page or tab inside the affiliate portal"??? this is exactly what I was looking for. There does not seem to be any native way to create such a thing? Advice?

C) How do I do this: "Brand Kit using the creatives module of FA + an API connection with your preferred cloud system"... You seem to be pointing to the ability to place/embed stuff directly in the FA interface/dashboard? But I do not see this option.

Any suggestions of where to go to find it? Using the "Creatives" module of FA? Are you saying to use that as the interface for providing the link to the "Welcome Video" and "direct access to folders on preview with available navigation on the front end or direct URL to the folders"?

This is all too juicy not to ask you these specific questions. I will do the research! I am not lazy. I will put in the effort and the work. I just want to know exactly what you are referring to when you say these things.

And yes I absolutely understand "spending too much time on making it look good" and not making it effective. I will avoid this trap. I will give "the 20%" their due loving!

Yes this is exactly what I was trying to do with my post here today >>> "Β I will focus on creating an experience for them and explaining your main product plans and calendar".

This is why I asked in the first place. It seems I can make a "Space" in FC. I have to figure out how to link them. But otherwise, I wanted to put a tab in the Affiliate dashboard with Welcome Video plust Brand Kit. How do I do this?

Thank you very much! I hope to hear back from you,

Jon

Jorge de los ReyesΒ you cannot make a new tab in the fluent dashboard

Jon JonesΒ hello Jon!

I didn’t see your reply, will answer you now :)

And yes. I know FA doesn’t allow you (yet) to add new tabs.

But, it does allow you to insert the portal shortcode on a custom tab (eg.: created by you or your page builder).

Jon JonesΒ happy to know it was insightful for you.

A) Secret Course: something only you affiliates can see + secret space (same).

B) Yes. This has been requested a couple of times. I’ll suggest asking for it too to support.

However, as I replied earlier, you can create your own landing, with your own tabs, inside eg.: of a page with the fluent community theme, and add on a tab the shortcode of the portal and any other you may want to use.

Eg.: the ranking

C) FA added in one of their last updates the feature of adding creatives. I was walking about using that, or deprecate it and use an embed of your preferred drive. Again on a custom landing (the one with your shortcodes).

You can and I’ll suggest using wpcloud plugins for this, which allows you to sync, embed and preview this.

Or asking for an enhancement to the FA team to add more flexibility: like a shortcode here (in which case you will be able to add the drive embed in the creatives section).

Just to be clear: when you use your own tabbed section, you can add the video there, the full portal and the embed.

Of course, being able to add custom tabs inside the FA native dashboard will be ideal. But I think there’s no ETA for that.

Many users (included me) asked for it. And further more, for a more cohesive user profile, that can integrate the community, CRM and affiliate data…

if you want to get some inspiration I’ll visit the WPMN portal. You will see that they are using custom tabs too :)

Jorge de los ReyesΒ I tried to sign up for the medical site but they are gatekeeping it. maybe you can give me a screenshot. or perhaps share another one? I guess I know what you mean. Itd be nice to know exactly. I appreciate you sharing, but it seems like a lot of writing and very little substance :D haha. like, what does this mean "Just to be clear: when you use your own tabbed section, you can add the video there, the full portal and the embed." ...i think im gonna use this "Β or deprecate it and use an embed of your preferred drive. Again on a custom landing (the one with your shortcodes)." basically im gonna make "AFFILIATE ONBOARDING" info on a private page on my WP site and then make that link available to the affiliates in the "Creatives" section. then I will add an email to email it to them and auto-add them to a "Collaboration" Space in Fluent community and see if they will come there. lastly ill just keep emailing them. thanks for your effort!

Jon Jones

Jorge de los ReyesΒ there is no way to create any "tabs" in the FA dashboard. this is not good. ok i will have to resort to emailing the affiliates only then. it will have to do
