Feature Wishlist & Roadmaps
Hey everyone! First off, loving the Fluent ecosystem. We're currently using it to build out a high-ticket WooCommerce store, and while it's been great, we’ve had to build a bunch of custom workarounds to get things working exactly how we need.
I put together a wishlist of features that would take Fluent Affiliate (and the whole ecosystem) to the absolute next level for larger e-commerce setups:
1. A master roadmap for everything Fluent It would be super helpful to have a unified roadmap right here on the community hub for all the Fluent plugins (Forms, CRM, Support, Affiliate, and even Fluent Snippets!). Since we use them all together to build out these complex sites, seeing how they're evolving side-by-side makes planning our tech stack way easier.
2. Better organization for Promo Materials As our affiliate program grows, the Creatives dashboard gets a bit chaotic. It would be awesome to have folders or categories on the backend so we can group assets by campaign or product. On the frontend, giving affiliates the ability to search, sort, and filter (like "Show me all banners" or "Logos") would be a huge time-saver for them.
3. True Lifetime Commissions (Customer Hard-Linking) Since we sell high-ticket items (like $10k+ vehicles), our sales cycle is long. Relying on 30 or 60-day browser cookies is really risky, especially with Safari/Firefox aggressively blocking them. We really need a way to permanently link a customer to an affiliate the moment they register an account. That way, if they buy 8 months later on a different device, the affiliate still gets the credit without needing an active cookie.
4. Variable/Tiered Commissions for WooCommerce Right now, a global flat percentage or flat fee is tough for high-ticket stores. Paying a flat 10% on a $50 accessory is fine, but 10% on a $15,000 cart wrecks our margins. We'd love the ability to set commission rules based on Woo product categories, specific products, or cart totals (e.g., 5% on accessories, but a flat $500 cap on vehicles).
5. Native Link Shortening (Vanity URLs) Right now we're using a third-party plugin just to make affiliate links look clean. Having a native URL shortener built into Fluent Affiliate so folks can generate clean vanity links (like yoursite.com/go/john-smith) straight from their dashboard would be killer.
6. Fix the missing Email Toggle in the Affiliate Feed In Fluent Forms, the standard User Registration feed has a great little checkbox to "Disable Default WordPress Welcome Email". But the Fluent Affiliate Integration feed is missing it! We had to write a custom PHP script to kill the ugly default WP emails so we could route affiliates to our branded WooCommerce welcome emails. Adding that toggle to the affiliate feed would be amazing.
7. See the Affiliate directly on the Woo Order Screen It would be super handy to have a meta box right on the WooCommerce admin order screen showing the "Referred By" affiliate. Even if the commission is pending, just being able to see who drove the sale without having to cross-check the Fluent Affiliate dashboard would save us a lot of clicks.
8. A simple "Refer-a-Friend" system for customers Traditional affiliates are great, but our actual customers are our best marketers. We're currently looking at third-party workarounds like WP Rewards to handle this, but having a native, lightweight "Refer-a-Friend" module built directly into the Fluent ecosystem would be incredible. Just something frictionless where a customer gets a link at checkout, shares it with a buddy for a discount, and gets a fixed payout or store credit—no complex affiliate dashboard required for them.
Cheers
