Signing up to receive emails when new posts are published?
Can this be done with FluentCRM?
https://wordpress.org/plugins/email-subscribers/
Sub title of the plugin:
Email Subscribers & Newsletters β Powerful Email Marketing, Post Notification & Newsletter Plugin for WordPress & WooCommerce
I use the plugin on a customer site. Making it possible for people to signup to receive an email every time a post within a specific category is published. It would be great if something like this could be done with FluentCRM.
You can do this easily with Fluentforms, Fluentcrm tags, and recurring campaign
Thank you! Natascha VantuykomΒ
Great! This I got to check into. It would make for a really good tutorial.
Natascha Vantuykom: I don't believe you can do this with recurring campaigns unless you know of a particular trick. Here's the problem I've run into and Fluent support has concurred.
The objective is to send out an email to subscribers whenever a post within category X is published. Using the Latest Posts block an email design can be made which filters only for posts within category X. That works fine.
Next, the setup for the recurring campaign needs to be defined. However, the setup for recurring campaigns only allows definition for the trigger of new post. There is no ability to define the recurring campaign trigger to only fire on new posts with the category X. Therefore any new post, even those not in category X will trigger the recurring campaign and the resulting email will not be correct.
This has been confirmed to me by Fluent Support, but maybe you have a clever trick to get around this issue.
BTW, Fluent Support has said they will take this as a feature request but won't commit to implementing it.
I have dreamed about such a feature for years. We run an online automotive carmagazine, and use Mailpoet to do this. This has been the only solution I found so far, and no other newsletter plugin supports this feature.
So see it in FluentCRM or make a 'hack-around' would be nice to know, so I could go down one more plugin!
I asked support about this. Here is their reply:
Currently, FluentCRM does not support automatic email triggers directly linked to new posts being published. This functionality would require a specific trigger in the automation system, which isn't available in FluentCRM at this moment.
However, you can use FluentCRM's Recurring Campaign feature to send emails at regular intervals (Daily, Weekly, or Monthly) that include the latest posts. This involves manually setting up a campaign that checks for new posts within a selected timeframe and then sends them out as part of the campaign.
To create a recurring campaign that sends out the latest blog posts:
- Go to theΒ Email MenuΒ and selectΒ Recurring Campaigns.
- Click onΒ Create New Recurring CampaignΒ and set a title for it.
- Choose how often you want to send this email (Daily, Weekly, or Monthly).
- Set conditions, such as checking whether blog posts have been published since the last campaign trigger.
- Compose the email using the Latest Posts Block to automatically pull in new post content.

However, if you want, we can take this as a feature request. Please let us know you want us to take it as a feature request and forward it to our R&D team for further consideration.Β
I got to test this out. I am thinking that they can also look this over and see if this is a good feature to add to Fluent CRM. I have not replied yet.
Paal Joachim RomdahlΒ +1 for this feature to be added! I really need it, when running an online magazine blog with daily news and some of them that needs to end in an inbox as soon as they are published..
Niki FunchΒ I just replied to support mentioning to bring it forward as a feature request. I would also find it very helpful.
I know this comment regurgitates this post, but I use Icegram Express Max for this on a few of my websites. The admin interface is clunky, but workable. I use it to get subscribers and then send post notifications to people subscribed to different categories. It is very cost effective. There is no way to remove the license from Icegram account website if you lose access to the website. Icegram knows this and I suggested to them to allow us to remotely remove license in the future. So use it on trusted client sites, or ask your clients to buy the license.
But I too would rather use FluentCRM to send a campaign automatically to lists when a post is created. I would love that workflow.
