Sell view-only access to individual posts?

Can FluentCRM help me with selling view-only access to essays on an a la carte basis?

I have 200+ grad school essays that I want to sell a la carte as view-only (not downloadable) posts for, say, 180 days or until a certain date.

I own Surecart as my checkout.

Is there a way to automate the person buying the essay and then getting access to the post?

I’m also ok if the essay lives in Google Drive or Notion.

Maybe each post can be numbered 1-200, and it requires a contact to have the tag to view it. Like this:

tag β€œ1” on a contact lets the person view post 1 for 180 days.

You need a content restriction plugin for this. I guess suremembers for access restriction can do the tricks alone (I don't own it) or with the help of suretriggers that has a delayed action that could be fired after 180 days to remove access. So surecart > suretriggers > suremembers should definitely work.

Here's one high-level concept as to how you could do this. You could use WP Fusion to control access to the posts based on tags. When a purchase is made in SureCart a tag would be applied to the contact. WPF would control access to the post based on the existence of that tag. The tag would also trigger an FCRM automation that would, among other things, remove the tag after 180 days. With that, content access would automatically be removed via WPF.

Norm SashΒ thanks! So FCRM has time-delayed actions?

Norm Sash

Yes, you can have an automation that waits for a period of time before it takes some other action, such as removing a tag. Do you currently have FCRM?

Norm SashΒ I don’t. I own a bunch of software but every solution (besides tagging) seems to want me to set up a membership/access level for every single one of my 200+ essays.

I own: Surecart, Suremembers, Suretriggers, Flowmattic, Zapier subscription, Fluent Community, and RCP.

I like your solution that combines WPFusion and FluentCRM.

I’d really like to avoid buying more tech just to implement one feature, so I’ll probably need to do the laborious β€œcreate 1 million access levels” workaround. 😭

Kaneisha GraysonΒ Actually, since you own SureCart & SureTriggers (OttoKit), I'm think there is a really good chance that you can accomplish what you want to do via a relatively simple setup between SureCart, SureTriggers, and WP Fusion (should only need the free version).

Norm SashΒ wow really?! I’ll look into it!
