Post Notifications
I know that this is not included with FluentCRM automation, but I would love for WP Ninja Team to consider adding post notification into the automation for us to set up. This really is a great way to keep people engaged on the site.
Recurring campaign is not the answer for this in case anyone suggests it. π
I currently use Icegram Express for this feature, but would love to drop that altogether. Thank you for the consideration.
Have you considered creating a snippet with your RSS feed?
yoursite.com/feed/
Snippet for setting it as a trigger on a FCRM automation.
Then, email with the content of the RSS feed?
Jorge de los ReyesΒ I have not. I am looking for single post notifications though. Wouldn't that give more than one post?
Kevin WatsonΒ Yep. Youβre right. The RSS feed itself contains multiple posts. (But you can filter those depending on how you code the snippet).
However, if FCRM is on the same WordPress site, Iβd actually skip RSS completely and trigger it directly when a new post is published using the native hook.
Something along these lines:
add_action('transition_post_status', function($new_status, $old_status, $post) {
// Only standard WP posts
if ($post->post_type !== 'post') {
return;
}
// Only when it is published for the first time
if ($new_status === 'publish' && $old_status !== 'publish') {
do_action('my_post_published', $post->ID);
}
}, 10, 3);
Then my_post_published can be registered as a custom FluentCRM automation trigger, with the post ID passed as the reference.
So the workflow becomes:
Post published β FluentCRM automation triggered β send notification for that specific post
That would give you exactly one email per newly published post, not a digest containing several posts.
You could then expose the post title, URL, excerpt, featured image, etc. as Smart Codes inside the email.
FluentCRM actually documents custom automation triggers for exactly this kind of use case, so this should be quite doable without Icegram Express. π

I just thought about using RSS because you can have everything and then filter. But, yep. Probably using this is more straightforward if you just want one post.
Jorge de los ReyesΒ You are so helpful with this. I appreciate your time!
Can't wait for the Ninja Team to make this integrated into the automation in a codeless way. :)
Kevin WatsonΒ Happy to share!
I had your same question a long time ago π . Used to use Ottokit for that. But tbh, it's way more reliable and easy to have your own snippet or plugin so as you can add or enhance functions depending on your needs - part of the Fluent ecosystem magic!
And I am 100% with you: this should be core!
In the "ancient" (but now resurging) times of blogging, this was a no brainer feature in WordPress and most of their plugins.
Can not believe, in 2026, we do not have an easier path for this. So, definitely, a must have in FCRM! π
Jorge de los ReyesΒ I think I found a way around it using recurring campaign. If I create recurring campaign and have it scheduled to send an email every day and to send summary of the past one day, then insert latest post block and choose 1 to show, it would accomplish this for me on one website. I have set it up, did a test post in a test category, and now will wait for tomorrow to see it. Then it should ignore the next day email because there is no new post. We shall see and I'll report back.
